It seems a fair amount of DD seems to get high and just chill at there computer which is fair enough, but i know there's some of us out there who do some more interesting shit too.
DD's has seemed a bit dry lately so i thought i'd make a thread for everyone just to say what stuff they have coming up, what they're getting on etc. Who knows, you could find out someone else from dd is going too! Not that you'd want to meet up though, could be weird.
Raves then. I'm talking the legal variant, there's a few small raves that go on in woods and stuff around here but I prefer having bouncers to watch my back when i'm fucked, gives me a bit of security. Lucky enough for me I live a 5 minute train journey away from a decent venue, The Junction Cambridge. A lot of the stuff there is fairly underground but because it's so close you end up hearing the names around here alot. There's some fairly big artists on some of the clubs/raves there but i prefer the smaller scale events to just take some mandy and have a great time.
Most of these events are heavy DnB/Dubstep/Jungle and the like. But you end up with a few hip-hop tracks mixed in and sometimes a bit of reggae. The atmosphere at these places is Amazing. People come from London and Manchester and the like to come to some events at the junction, considering it's size that's quite a feat. It is a fairly unique place in England.
So basically everyone is on drugs and there's music and it's fun
The next one coming up i'm going to is RamJam (or Boomslang) Might be going to Warning next but that's more "Hardcore"

Loads of my mates go in a big group and it's a Mad night out. The bouncers know exactly what goes on and turn a blind eye to everything and are more worried about keeping the crowd under control than the guy smoking a joint in the smoking area. I've been to a couple in the past few months since i've only turned 18 recently and i've smoked a j with dj's and made some pretty good friends, possibly had some of the best nights of my life too.
I'm Also going to Reading festival this year as last year it was pretty amazing so me and the same group of mates are going again. But that's too far for me to even think about and i've gotta go to college soon so that's it at the mo.
So what does everyone have coming up? Tell people about your plans for 2012! Lets see what DD is up to

Got the download festival in a couple of weeks. Lineup this year is pretty awesome.

Going through all the smaller bands at the minute, seeing what they're like, definitely gonna be checking out Turbowolf.
Just gonna be a week of chilling, meeting a load of randomers and some seriously good music.

Mate i don't even want to go near that shit yet. I've looked at the line up a few weeks ago and it blew my mind, i want to save my virginity for shit like that a bit longer before ruining it and never being able to have fun at anywhere ever again. I went to reading last year with some mates and it was surprising, the line up was shit but we had such a laugh and since the same group of friends are going again i'm going along, it's the last year most of them are going since next year we're split between gg and outlook so will see what happens. Also a festival is a festival so i'm not too bothered about the line up, there's a fair dance stage at reading anyway so i'll have fun. I also appreciate basically all types of music anyway I just love the dance/rave scene and last time at reading I found loads of bands I'd never heard before and got pretty into it so hoping to see some more of that happening
yeah fairplay been to reading 2 years myself, i find its a bit of a waste of money because you only see a few bands play and the rest is just getting wasted in the camp sites, not sure if its worth £200 although watching cypress hill when your high as fuck with a load of people who are also high as fuck is probably something i'll never experience again

Bamboozle's one to remember. going to Bonnarroo this summer, words cannot explain my excitement about that. saw Rusko and Zeds Dead live, any electronic music producer's concert is a bucket list for pretty much everyone. haven't ever met a person who disliked it, even if they weren't into the genre. i reaaaaally want to go to Hospitality. i've never been to a huge rave but i live in a town where localized dances and raves are really popular. there are huge buildings that get rented out with speaker systems and giant glowsticks and all that shit all the time, and i try to go to one like every month because they are a fucking experience, especially on drugs.

Oh you mentioned shows too. I've been to a few shows. Seen Streetlight Manifesto, Reel Big Fish, went to the Summer Slaughter tour in 2011(Black Dahlia Murder, Whitechapel to name a few) baked as shit for the whole thing. Moshing when you're blitzed feels very counter-intuitive sometimes lol. I've also seen The Grouch, Zion I and Brother Ali(with Aesop Rock for a few songs)

Yeah i'll make sure of it, had a few mates recommend watching out for that set aswell. That tune would be sickk, i've heard a few from silkie too so i'll hit it up. It's all pretty slow tempo stuff though so i'm not sure about getting on it or not.
