May: I’ll rip up human rights laws that impede new terror legislation
The prime minister said she was looking at how to make it easier to deport foreign terror suspects and how to increase controls on extremists where it is thought they present a threat but there is not enough evidence to prosecute them. The last-ditch intervention comes after days of pressure on May over the policing cuts and questions over intelligence failures, following terror attacks on London Bridge, Manchester and Westminster.
She said: “But I can tell you a few of the things I mean by that: I mean longer prison sentences for people convicted of terrorist offences. I mean making it easier for the authorities to deport foreign terror suspects to their own countries.
“And I mean doing more to restrict the freedom and the movements of terrorist suspects when we have enough evidence to know they present a threat, but not enough evidence to prosecute them in full in court.

Christ, UK politics are getting crazy. These kind of statements are not ok.
lock her up for real now
if this actually happened, the terrorists would have won
I hope no one votes for her tomorrow. Continues to prove that all she wants is some authoritarian state.
So she's literally going to make thought crimes punishable now, that's very nice. The reality of the situation is people are going to slip through the cracks no matter what laws you're going to bring up, and all you can realistically do is ensure as few of them slip through as possible. You can't kill terrorism without killing the ideology behind it. ISIS made terrorism very attractive for a lot of people with the success they initially enjoyed, especially for those with nothing to lose, a bellyful of anger at the world, and looking for a means to take it out on others.
And this how United Kingdom will fall...
Jesus Christ, is she trying to turn the UK into her own private fief?
You guys need to kick her ass out.

BEEP BEEP RED FUCKING ALERT
Legitimately terrifying.

Okay, yeah, anyone who votes Conservative can safely have their opinions on anything disregarded if they support this shit. Kind of reminds me of another big-headed buffoon and his loony supporters...
And people will still vote for her.
Donald "you have to go after their families" Trump and Theresa "I’ll rip up human rights laws" May
what a great duo
This is ain't good
She must be stopped.
What the fuck happened that everything has gotten so insane. Can we go back to the last decade?

That somehow still sounded less ominous than what she actually said.
[editline]7th June 2017[/editline]
Like sure if she rips up a human, that's one person having a really, really bad day. But fucking over human rights to fit your agenda is insane.
She's been trying to get rid of these human rights for years.
Now she's using terror attacks to implement stuff she wanted to do anyway.
Same with the internet stuff.
Shameful and shitty
If that's not a knee-jerk then i don't know what is
I'm genuinely scared for the future of the UK under the Conservatives...
I was gonna say that she really was the devil in disguise, but then I remembered there's no disguise to talk about
Fucking detach my country from this woman's claws please.
we're already legally allowed to derogate from the european covention of human rights in times of emergency, there's no reason we cant just use that when we actually need to. Changing the laws under the pretense of a terror threat is just an excuse to permanently remove human rights laws from the UK, its fucking disgusting.
Coincidentally ripping up human rights laws decreases protections further for the homeless, the sheltered, those using foodbanks and the sick and elderly as well as split nationality families and such who may find themselves challenging deportations which would cut marriages and parenthoods into pieces.
I'm only speculating, but things like the right to life, shelter and enter into relationships are being threatened here. She's removing a barrier to her extremist lawmaking as a phoney response to extremism. The irony.

The terrorists win if you capitulate and give what they want, such as evacuate the middle east. Otherwise, Islamists love the altruism of an open society, it's easy to work in particularly if everyone is more afraid of being called a racist or a fascist then being blown up.
Liberal values work best when everyone accepts them. Otherwise, you must make the world safe democracy, like always.
Remember fellow UK people, Don't vote torries.
Fuck her. It makes me literally sick knowing they are going to be voted in on Thursday. Literally sick. Where in this world has a progressive government that's not full of nutjobs and extremists?
If I happen to split up with my long time girlfriend anytime soon, first thing I am doing is applying for a visa somewhere else.

France, apparently. Problem is, I don't speak French. Or have any way of getting a job in France. Bugger.
Wheres V when you need him?

Except no, they hate liberalism. That's literally just a fact, the main schtick of most of these religiously motivated extremist factions is forced regressivism.
Racist and fascist bullshit done by "the west" is great for them because it's basically free propaganda.
And unless by a "closed" society you mean one that assumes guilt of anyone from the Middle East then no. No matter how open or closed a society is, blowing people up with bombs is just as illegal.
Well if this isn't an authoritarian power grab in desecration of the victims of past attacks I don't know what is.
The problem with the counter-terrorism strategy is clearly one of incompetence (see the record of Theresa May and Amber Rudd) and lack of resources and funding.
Attacking the human rights of all of us is completely unjustified.
Clearly Theresa May has been taking human rights tips from The Other Islamic State also known as 'so-called Saudi Arabia'.

Not just that, RIP HER UP as an example to the other fascists.
I'm surprised the terrorists aren't going after these fucks instead of blowing up little girls.
