Hello, and welcome to the Darksydephil (or DSP) megathread. Post your favorite DSP moments, hilarious compilations of how inept he is, and everything DSP related you can find.
Who is DSP?
DSP, or Phil Burnell, or the King of Hate, is a popular let's player on YouTube that plays virtually every major release on the 360 and PS3, and occasionally PC or Wii.

Where can I find DSP?

There are several sites where DSP posts his shit, most notably on YouTube. He also has his own forums, and several other channels that hold various playthroughs to avoid copyright strikes on his main channel.
The King of Hate website and forums
YouTube Channel
Twitter
Facebook
As a result of his shit-terrible attitude, anger issues, tendency to blame games/other plays on his own faults, and total obliviousness, he's hated almost universally. Sites like Shoryuken, NeoGAF, /v/, and Facepunch pretty much despise DSP, especially Shoryuken. If rumors hold true, he was apparently banned from several fighting game tournaments for being such a whiny and angry shithead. He yelled at commentors at Evo 2006. What a shitlord.

DSP is clearly an awful YouTuber that doesn't deserve views or money via ad revenue. Why do you still watch his videos?
Well, he's fucking hilarious. As Matt and Pat from Two Best Friends said, it's "like a trainwreck that you can't look away from, that's on 10 times a day.... thats repeatedly going on the same track going into a brick wall." Normally it would be terribly boring watching somebody struggle with videogames, but DSP's personality is so unique that it's exciting to watch this dumb double-chinned manchild struggle with the simplest of tasks. Not knowing how to remove leeches in MGS3, not knowing how to select his M9 in MGS2, not knowing how to get out of the graveyard in Bayonetta, being unable to read and comprehend basic instructions that are displayed right on the screen in Dark Souls, not understanding that Dragon's Dogma has high level zones that don't scale to your character's level, so on and so forth.
Not only that, but DSP's lack of sportsmanship, skill, and objective reasoning skills does a great deal of good for the viewers. Why, you may ask? Because as long as you live, and as long as you learn to accept criticism, be nice, and put effort into your life, you'll never be as astronomically retarded as DSP.
Highlights
Sure, you could jump in to one of DSP's thousands upon thousands of videos, but it's much easier to watch highlight videos, or videos of people online kicking his ass. These give you a good idea of how much of a immature, arrogant, whiny, and retarded fat babby he is. Here are a few of my favorites. If you find a hilarious highlight video of DSP's ineptitude, I'll put it in the OP.

thanks i love you too
how do you not kill the first boss in dark souls
DSP is such an obnoxious tool, I can't believe such an annoying person recording his screen with a camera and constantly blaming games for his mistakes actually has a fanbase and makes a living off of it. He honestly reminds me of a 12 year old child.
I feel like he only watched AVGN and thought that dying constantly in a game = game is bad = talking about game is funny
[editline]23rd May 2013[/editline]
Okay yeah I just saw 15:17 this guy does not know how to do jokes.

I thought DSP was around 18-20 years old, due to his arrogance and constant spergy virgin-lust over females when he does his playthroughs. Then I saw a video of him where he was talking about not wanting to get a job for retarded fucking reasons and saw he was a downs syndrome looking doughy balding middle aged white permavirgin and everything was explained
I hardly watch playthroughs anymore, but I'm pretty certain the dude has gotten more and more annoying as his youtube career has progressed and I think he's paying for it with lower views. I raged so hard when he was stuck playing through Black Mesa. He didn't understand the concept of crouch jumping. How do you fuck up that hard? Why can't every playthrough be like his Heavy Rain or Dead Space 1 videos? Those were gold.
I'm fairly certain he's just pretending to be horrible at it. He probably did a playthrough or two and people told him how terrible he was, and maybe he got a lot of views, so he decided to pretend to be terrible.
I mean there's no way he can be THIS BAD
Just watched one of his videos, and any time a female comes up he goes full sperg. It goes on for hours until there are no more boobs to see, at which point he goes back to blaming the game.
I haven't played Dark souls
but from what i understand it's a very unforgiving game. and DPS is just the COD type of player.
I've heard it is very hard but only if you don't pay attention.
I'm sure even someone as bad as ME could have done better
Half the appeal to DSP is the ridiculous rants and rages he goes off on, and the fact he sucks at games is just hilarious sometimes.
I wonder how long in pre-edit time it took him to realize the shield wasn't cosmetic.
DSP is literally incapable of blaming himself for anything that happens in the games he plays. It's always the game's fault, or the developers, or the console or TV.
When he had his talisman out and tried to block and instead casted heal
"This game is just too complicated man"
I hate to be all elitist "filthy casuals" but this is part of the reason why RPG's are being dumbed down year after year. Switching weapons on your offhand is deemed as "too complicated" by the guy who plays games for a living, as sad as that fact may be.
I'm fairly certain he's just pretending to be horrible at it. He probably did a playthrough or two and people told him how terrible he was, and maybe he got a lot of views, so he decided to pretend to be terrible.

he decided to not have a real job over his channel.
that alone is at least really dumb.
plus it doesn't even feel he's faking it, he plays stupid too well. Hell, he even blamed black mesas duck jump on it being a "Bugged game". You'd be amazed how how stupid stupid can be.
At first I thought "This guy can't be serious... it has to be an act to get views. Genius really." But then I saw his response video to the "How NOT to play MGS" videos. He is dead serious.
Personally, I don't think it's an act. His Dark Souls playthrough "rules" actually evolved while he played the game. The first half was a "blind run" (despite him doing the drake sword trick with the bow and arrows from under the bridge), then the second half he conceded and started using guides. On his Return to Dark Souls series (part 2 of the montage above) he just straight up quits trying bosses and summons as many people as he can.

He probably didn't want to get a job because they're so fucking broken that it's funny.
I mean, have you SEEN all the fucking work you have to do just to get your fucking paycheck? It's fucking ridiculous!
I think he is the only guy left on earth who records the TV screen with a camera. Such a dumbass.

Ugguuhhghhg
omg
he has the drake sword. That's like the worst sword in the game (every weapon scales and the drake sword never scales making it useless very quickly.
he always goes to fighting game tournaments, but he's absolutely awful
look up some of his SF videos. he gets his ass kicked and blames either a) the connection or b)the fact that the other player is a "no life kid."
He should start playing Ipad and Mobile games. Maybe then he'll find something that caters to his demographic
[sp]casuals[/sp]
Oh god this guy
I'm so happy he's playing dark souls
I'll admit that on my first playthrough I ran into the graveyard thinking that was the right way to go, but it only took 2 instant deaths to tell me that I was going the wrong way. But this guy. . . wow.
omg
he has the drake sword. That's like the worst sword in the game (every weapon scales and the drake sword never scales making it useless very quickly.
the drake sword is a pretty damn effective dps weapon, up until sl 20+ or at least after the depths. by the fact DSP got that sword means he's reading a guide because getting that sword isn't obvious at all.
he's reading a guide, holy fucking shit.
he doesn't even know how to target, good god damn.

He doesn't know how to use his shield apparently as well

He finished the game already, when he "returns to Dark Souls" he basically uses phantoms to get through, till he is overleveled and over geared and "poises" through everything.
