Politics is a magical thing
Politicians are so fucking stupid it staggers me. It's like they think they're living in the 1940s when the only way you'd ever hear about anything is the local news paper and no one archived shit. Everything they say and do in any public capacity is archived now, has been since the late 90s even. Then you get people like Hilary that boast about their "record" you can look up, then you do and realize she's either a complete liar and banks on no one caring enough to bother, or she's an idiot that doesn't remember what she said or did even half a decade ago. Either way it's embarrassing and dissolves confidence in the system.
Another reason why this type of politics is going to slowly die off in the next few decades. Thanks to the internet, youtube, and any other source of information and transfer of info. Its pretty much impossible for these old or naive politicians to pull this bullshit anymore.

We are just now starting to see it between Trump and Clinton but future candidates will have a much longer history to sift through
This is the most depressing election I've ever seen. And we just elected a 14 year old here.

That first line from Michelle is kinda fucked up imo

Everyone has bad things to say about everyone in primaries. You can do the same thing to literally everyone.
He must really dislike Trump

We're a very, very small number of people who actually watch videos and look up what they've said in the past and recognize the contradictions. They know exactly what they're doing and they know people don't care enough for it to matter that they say factually wrong things or things that contradict past statements.
That first line from Michelle is kinda fucked up imo
Yeah man, savage as fuck. Imagine if Trump pulled something like that (unless he already has).

If anything, the internet has actually amplified this effect, by allowing people to reach other like-minded people, who each convince one another that they're right, further entrenching them in their own opinions. Pick anyone you know on Facebook who has a strong opinion of anything. Be it religion, political stance, etc. Notice how they keep posting stupidly ignorant stuff, yet tens and tens of their friends flock to support them?
He must really dislike Trump
I mean his evil half-brother backstabbed him in favor of Trump.
Yeah, because censorship has always worked.
It works until whoever controls the censors falls apart, which doesn't seem likely to happen
Why is this considered witty or surprising Who would have guessed that your opinion of a person can change over the span of 8 years
You mean "Who would have guessed that what you publicly say about a person will change based on what's politically apt". His actual opinion has nothing to do with it, it's basic political maneuvering.

I don't know why the American public actually expects their politicians, or any politicians, really, to act as if they're just individuals in a vacuum. They have to abide by the rules and power dynamics of the game they're playing; even if it is a rather disingenuous game. [editline]8th August 2016[/editline]
I say the contrary that they're more corrupt then ever and will get only worse and it'l be just as easy to get the front ticket.
I don't agree, when it comes to things staying the same, to be honest. The American public is both rapidly polarizing in opinion, and rapidly becoming discontent with the current political establishment; while also placing more importance on things like elections. If these trends continue to rise, events will come to a head. The polarization in particular is a genuinely unprecedented change in public opinion; probably caused by the rise of the internet and other forms of information dissemination.
They'll do whatever it takes to get where they want to be.
We've made it so that people have to be scumbags to become successful politicians. So we shouldn't be surprised that scumbags are our only choices.
i have been waiting all goddamn week to post on why this video is utter bullshit. in 2008 you have hillary and barry running against each other. they're playing the classic smear game. it's a typical battle of words and bringing up each other's faults and careers, etc. you'd see this with the repubs as well. in 2016 and on his way out, after oblamo specifically states that he will shill the democrat nominee no matter who it is, of course he speaks of hillary like she's the second coming. he would do the same for sanders. maybe not the other guys that were running because nobody gave a fuck about them.
