Because the 'gameplay' trailer is actually a 3 minute cutscene trailer with 10 seconds of actual gameplay. Here's the mission that they showed in the livestream instead. Starts at 2:26 EDIT: Changed video to the one supplied by Bungie themselves.
I can't believe the secret behind mythical Doors next to the Speaker is[sp]just an alleyway with a bunch of shops[/sp]
I can't believe the secret behind mythical Doors next to the Speaker is[sp]just an alleyway with a bunch of shops[/sp]
Would've been cooler if we spent all of our marks and glimmer there instead of where we do nowadays.
Ive been fucked over by pre-rendered gameplay before....
I hate how the Crosshair is so low on the screen. Bungie just can't stop doing that I think it's because they know they have such shit FoV they make it lower so you look more upwards to compensate for it

It's something all PC FPSs should have by default, but still.

Off-center crosshairs never bothered me. Not to say it's an unreasonable complaint, but I pretty much never notice it. I didn't realize it was in Prey until it was pointed out to me. Took me years to realize it in Halo :v:
yeah it looks like more destiny a bit disappointed they didn't really mix it up much, but I guess there was nothing wrong with how destiny played exactly.

It promotes verticality in level design and a passive height advantage. (e.g makes players below another player have a more difficult time hitting players above.) And if you've played a lot of Destiny you know how important mobility and distance from the ground can be. You get used to the crosshair in a minute or two and the additional vertical space is useful since your resting crosshair location is lower on the screen since it's closer to the ground.
Final gameplay will look nothing like this and instead you will need enough ammo to wipe out mankind three times to kill a single enemy.
Final gameplay will look nothing like this and instead you will need enough ammo to wipe out mankind three times to kill a single enemy.
Considering it's releasing in less than 6 months, I highly doubt it.
Final gameplay will look nothing like this and instead you will need enough ammo to wipe out mankind three times to kill a single enemy.
Kinda pushing the 'enemies are bulletsponges on hard difficulties' thing to the extreme there aren't you?
I can't believe the secret behind mythical Doors next to the Speaker is[sp]just an alleyway with a bunch of shops[/sp]
You know why it's xur's favorite spot? They got this fantastic ramen soup just around the corner.
Kinda pushing the 'enemies are bulletsponges on hard difficulties' thing to the extreme there aren't you?
Not like the previous game had bulletsponges anywhere right?

And if you're preaiming properly, it just means you'll be slightly tilted up to compensate, since you're going to be aiming mostly at enemies on the level ground in front of you. All it really does is make you look at the sky more.
Not like the previous game had bulletsponges anywhere right?
No, not really. I started playing Destiny for the first time on PS4 fairly recently and so far, outside of bigger enemies or bosses, there's not much bullet-sponginess going on, definitely a lot less than most other games of this type like Borderlands or The Division.

But imo, being able to see the sky more is pretty useful in a game where space wizards regularly jump up real high before they dunk you with a magic basketball.
Not like the previous game had bulletsponges anywhere right?
Sounds like you need to play more, most enemies are easy to kill with a few headshots/whatever. The only remotely bullet spongy enemy are named bosses at high levels of difficulty; and even then, they aren't frustratingly spongy.

The end boss of a strike has a lot of health. That doesn't prove that all the enemies are like that.

Yeah, that's a boss.
Even post-TTK bungie adjusted all of the strike boss' health so they can be taken down faster. I remember that it took 10 minutes to kill a strike boss back in vanilla destiny, now it's usually 3 minutes, including adds and all.

Notwithstanding what everyone else said about the gigantic 20 foot tall Ogre being a named final boss for a strike, it looks like these players are around level 12-13, which means they're probably not as well geared as they should be. Level 12 is the bare minimum for the strike. That video is also old because IIRC he's now named just the "Hive Abomination". And they've made a lot of positive updates to the game.
Not like the previous game had bulletsponges anywhere right?
the only bulletsponges that exist make sense to be bullet sponges. like gigantic floating metal balls that give nearby peeps shields including themselves, bosses in strikes/raids, literal gods, etc. you can p much kill everything in 5 shots or less unless theres a modifier that makes that gun less effective for the weekly modifiers or your just underleveled
I just think it looks so... lame. Like does this bland kind of shooting gallery still appeal to people? I thought we were past this, and moving on to more freeform level design like we saw in Wolfenstein.

This video is from February 2015, that's before even the house of wolves. They've rebalanced all the bosses since then, and nevermind these guys are minimum level for that strike.
You're aware most of Destiny is open areas, right?
also alot of it can also be vertical platformers, especially venus.
You're aware most of Destiny is open areas, right?
It's not about the size of the levels, it's about what you can do in em. All you can do in Destiny is run around and point your gun at stuff and shoot it.
