Holy fuck I just realized Colonel Stars and Stripes is Jim Carey. He is almost unrecognizable .
You just know that was one of them trailers that showed you all the good bits in chronological order within the first half of the trailer.
If it wasn't for all the Jim Carrey that it didn't show, I'd have utterly no desire to watch the film now. Can't help but feel that they're trying to squeeze too much into one sequel though. Wherever it's going, it's going BIG.
This looks embarrassingly bad. Both the production values and directing looks horrible.
it just doesnt have the same allure the first one had
which was some dorky kid trying to be a superhero but instead getting his ass kicked (heh)
still though, this one looks like a promising sequel and ill probly go see it
It doesn't look like it's trying to be much more than a fun time and it looks like it's doing that perfectly well. I'm definitely gonna go see this.
Wasn't the first one trying to make a mockery of the over exaggeration of violence in films by making it way way to over the top(and drawing you into that over the topness) and then bringing it crashing back down to earth with a real fucked up scene (like super)? I don't know much about this comic but is that still a similar theme or has it changed up?
Ugh no
It sounds like you're over thinking things
I'm sorry that movies tend to have themes and this happened to be the one I picked up from it.

The comic was absurdedly violent just to emphasize how crazy shit is. The film kept that to stay in the spirit of the comic.
If you picked up on any themes here, it's that running around pretending to be a superhero is absurd.
Absurd violence + absurd plot, you can see where I'm going with this.
Over-analyzing Mark Millar is a dangerous road. A lot of his writing is rooted in reality or semi-autobiographical, but this isn't a deep movie.
it honestly looks pretty bad. i loved the first but this just looks shitty. different writers and all.
the problem with kick-ass 2 even as a graphic novel is that it's ridiculously and retardedly over the top, to the point that it's not even tongue in cheek, anymore, it's just horrible. it's terribleness is more offensive than it's content's offensiveness. and it looks like the movie is having the exact same issues, which is fitting, i suppose.
but, if they can't even come up with their own score for the trailer (it's the theme for dredd) it's gonna be shit

Apparently it was never tongue in cheek and only meant to be over the top for the sake of being over the top. Who knew.
Ew, the first film is one of my all time favourite satirical super hero films, but this doesn't look good. I mean the CGI, mostly the greenscreen stuff looks horrendously fake. Look at the sunrise when she's on the building, or the moving van scene. Also, they have that "cocksuckers" bit, which is basically exactly the same as when she called everyone "cunts" in the first one.

That's also called tongue in cheek
just realized that Kickass is wearing Big Daddy's armor in a few of those scenes
just realized that Kickass is wearing Big Daddy's armor in a few of those scenes
I assumed it was just generic body armor.
Anyone else getting a Watchmen vibe from this?
Big dumb fun movie... done right? Seems like it to me, I can see myself enjoying this
I'm going to watch it, but it doesn't seem to have the same, I dunno, appeal as the first one.

Most of the shit I've seen/heard from the Comic is hilariously fucked up compared to the film, so no. That isn't that theme.
at least there's no nic cage
