Guitar legend and Black Sabbath co-founder Tony Iommi recently discussed the effect cancer diagnosis had on his life. Apart from describing the initial shock, the guitarist also expressed firm determination to win the battle and continue with his goals.
"I thought, bloody cancerous lymphoma? Well that's it, I've had it," Iommi told Guitar World while discussing his first reactions to lymphoma diagnosis.
In another sense he's lucky, lymphomas are some of the more curable cancers with the highest survival rates.
The original line up of Black Sabbath have proved to be the most invulnerable bunch of people ever, I really hope this isn't his death sentence

well he's only lucky for finding it out soon
any cancer of the blood or lymph nodes spreads super easily and can become inoperable or incurable quickly
Really hope he gets better. The cancer stopped him last year to come to sweden. I hope he gets the power to come this year. I would love to see the original black sabbath play again.
In my world it's the best music I know. Love them live.
You can do it Tony!

You took Dio just leave these legends alone
Saw him at download last year. He is an absolute beast of a guitarist. Hope he pulls through.
Keeping up such enthusiasm and determination will really help with his health, especially against something like Cancer.
Psychology does have an effect on the body, after all.
Goddammit, cancer, stop killing awesome musicians. Here's hoping he pulls through
Is cancer just working its way though Sabbath or something?
Hope he gets better like, one of my favourite guitarists.
Poor guy.
I need to see him and Sabbath before they die/breakup again.
Hope he pulls through, he completely changed music forever
I was lucky enough to see Sabbath with Dio when they reunited for the "Heaven and Hell" tour back in '07.
*smug*
