The Hungarian parliament on Tuesday voted in favor of the government supporting Poland in its fight with the European Commission over the rule of law.
“We’re calling for the Hungarian government to support Poland, to make sure Poland avoids being stripped of the rights guaranteed by the EU treaty, to stand up against any ideas restricting its EU member rights,” said a resolution put forward by Zsolt Németh, a lawmaker from Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s ruling Fidesz party, the Polish Press Agency reported.

Polak Węgier dwa bratanki...bloody hell.
Wannabe Dictators got to stick together I guess.
Might sound a bit conspiratorial on my end. But what are the chances that the Kremlin is involved with the flaring anti-EU sentiments?
Get fucked, Orban. Constantly whining and complaining about the EU while happily taking EU funding for public construction only to funnel it into his friends' pockets instead.

V4 countries have always been skeptical of the EU and Russia alike, but they also depend on them, so there's definitely heavy influence from both sides. I see it less as sinister Kremlin meddling and more as V4 members being opportunistic.

It's all too convenient to not be true.
After all, that got a chunk of Ukraine without significant military retaliation, so why stop there?
Orban is so full of shit, what a fucking hypocrite.
Shit like this is why my partner left Hungary.
Believe it or not, not everything that is happening in Central-Eastern Europe has to do anything with Russia.
Poland and Hungary have been supporting each other over controversial EU matters for a long time (the earliest instance I can recall was in 2011 when Poland shown sympathy over the new media law in Hungary, imo the controversy over that specific legislation was overblown).
The reason for this is two-fold, for one, these two countries had very strong relations since the middle ages (even compared to other V4 members, "Polak Węgier dwa bratanki" indeed), and also more importantly both of them now have a somewhat similar right-wing government who are also in very good terms with each other.

I'm inclined to agree, I don't think Russia could provide the financial incentive that Orban wants out of the EU - his M.O. is to tread the line just this side of still qualifying for all that EU money whilst pretty much ignoring or paying lip-service to the obligations attached to it.
After all, somewhere definitely needs a new football stadium.
Please sod off Orban.
Hope that you'll end up as Ceaușescu.
Nothing new, only a government change in either Hungary or Poland would change this whole situation, otherwise we'll be stuck with this situation, with both countries supporting each other
Meanwhile my grandmother supports him and wants me to vote for Fidesz in April, saying that otherwise it will be chaos. Then again she also preferred the old Kádár system. The government wont change in Hungary, Orbán will remain in power.
Don't Polish and Hungarian nationalists utterly despise Russia anyway? Pretty sure the only thing they despise more than Muslims are Russians.

The Poles? Yes.
For Hungarians? That ultimate evil are Romanians.

What did Romania do to Hungary?

Magyar = Hungarians
Basically, after the Treaty of Trianon, Hungary was partitioned between the neighbouring states. The biggest piece of land as well as the land out of those taken with the highest population of Hungarians was given to Romania.
But that's not all. Romania intervened , when the Hungarian Soviet Republic waged a war against the newly formed country of Czechoslovakia, occupying them and taking even more land from them in the process. A territorial rivalry.

Same can be said from the Romanian side.
Second after that is Russia.
