There isn't any info regarding who did this however people suspect the government, pkk, isis or other terrorist groups may have a link.
I will update the OP when its neccesary.

...so, pretty much anyone with a motive to execute such an attack?
...so, pretty much anyone with a motive to execute such an attack?
Pretty much.
EDIT: My money's on ISIS though.
Oh fuck. I hope that 20 doesn't turn into a bigger number.
...so, pretty much anyone with a motive to execute such an attack?
Turkey is very complicated. I mean there's a potential for a lot of different groups to be responsible yeah but there's also the potential for any number of rivals who might profit from increased violence.

I feel like PKK wouldn't bomb a peaceful rally organised by unionists.

Dunno, I mean it could help them out with getting more people to vote for them under the "Vote for us if you want to stand up against the AKP/ISIS tyranny and terrorism" propaganda. But as I said before it could have been anyone, so it'd be wrong to blame HDP/PKK for that right now.

Yeah I know, "when you hear hooves think horses not zebras" but it really wouldn't be the first time a government poked at civil unrest in a rival country. We did it to the Soviet Union all the time for most of the cold war, the only time we stopped was at the very end.

If we're gonna count the foreign factors then we might aswell add Syria along with Russia to the list. And tbh, we shouldn't have fucked with any middle eastern country's internal affairs while being way too vulnarable to civil unrest ourself.

There's also a rumor going around that there's a bomb somewhere in downtown Istanbul (which is pretty close to the university that I attend). Although there are no credible sources on this matter yet.

My two cents here:
HDP leader has started to blame the government aggressively all of a sudden, in these cases usually Erdoğan's the one to start blaming people when it's obviously him however, it has started to smell like PKK might have done this to fish for more votes from humanists and such people. Before I get labelled as an "Islamist AKP supporter and a "Kurd" hater" I'd like to say that I'm a social liberal whom supports Kurdish people's rights and strongly against fundamental religious tyranny and not all the Kurds support PKK.
Can't even begin to think about who to point the finger at since there's at least a dozen of different groups.
I hate to say it but I hope it's just some solo/a couple nutters rather than an organized group.
The fact that no one is claiming responsibility could point toward a lonewolf, no?
The fact that no one is claiming responsibility could point toward a lonewolf, no?
Nah its either ISIS or PKK, but I doubt its PKK however since they are lowering their weapons due to the turkish election.
If it's the Islamic State, I would guess that it was done by a self-affiliated member instead of ordered from Syria.
Turkey is the main way foreign fighters get into Syria to help fight for the black flag, it wouldn't make much sense to bite the hand that feeds them.
Footage of the bomb going off (no gore)

Apparently the red banner on the right reads "Peace with the Kurds, war with the USA"
Death toll has risen up to 95
