Found these mushrooms in my yard. - General

Before I start, these are probably not Magic Mushrooms, but this is the only section I could find that is appropriate for this question. I was leaf blowing today, and I blew away some leafs from this bush and found what I thought at first were 3 eggs. They were pretty big, white, speckled spheres. I attempted to move one with my foot but it didn't budge, at this time I realized it was attached to the ground and probably a mushroom. I picked up a stick and stuck it in one of the spheres, it went in pretty easily and a blue smoke emitted from the sphere. I was shocked and amazed at the same time. I made sure not to inhale it because I thought they were spores. I've been researching mushrooms but I couldn't find any online that match the description of the ones I found. Does anybody here know about shrooms that may be able to identify them? Thanks. I'll try to upload a picture later. There was no visible stem, they were directly rooted into the ground at the sphere.

It was satire, not directed at you. The case is just that DD receives a lot of "HEY I FOUND THIS SHIT IS IT WEED/COKE/HEROINE/OWL BLOOD" threads and it's quite funny some of the posts people come here with.

Sounds like a Giant Bovist to me.. not sure how its named in English but thats a rough Dutch one for you there. Over here when they are completly white you should be able to eat them.. Still wouldn't try .. get a book about it.
