Online database "exposes" pro-Palestinian college students in bid to block future jobs
A new website is publicizing the identities of pro-Palestinian student activists to prevent them from getting jobs after they graduate from college. But the website is keeping its own backers’ identity a secret.
“It is your duty to ensure that today’s radicals are not tomorrow’s employees,” a female narrator intones in a slick video posted to the website’s YouTube account.
Called Canary Mission, the site has posted profiles of dozens of students and recent graduates, alongside those of well-known activists like Omar Barghouti, founder of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement. Some of the students are active in Students for Justice in Palestine; others were involved in recent pro-BDS resolutions at campuses in California. Many of them have relatively thin activist résumés.
“The focus on young people and students is an effort to try to tell people that there will be a price for you taking a political position,” said Ali Abunimah, founder of the pro-Palestinian website The Electronic Intifada. “It’s an effort to punish and deter people from standing up for what they believe.”
Pretty revolting and I'd imagine it be illegal as well if any employer used this deny a young person a job. The irony is that the people running and funding this are doing so in anonymity.

Yep, punishing people for having different opinions. Seems like academia has turned into a fucking joke.

And so, I laughed.
The Canary Mission database was created to expose individuals and groups that are anti-Freedom, anti-American and anti-Semitic in order to protect the public and our democratic values.
i don't think any employer could possibly give a single shit
Seems like academia has turned into a fucking joke.
What are you even talking about? This seems to be some some sort of right-wing organization.
hey canary mission, i'm pro palestine go ahead put me on the list :)
i don't think I'd want to hire someone that supports terrorism either. anti-israel is one thing, but pro-palestine is scary
what, you guys would willingly hire, say, an ISIS supporter?
but pro-palestine is scary
Wait, why is being supportive of a native population of the area which is currently in control of Israel is scary?
Better keep these dangerous radicals locked up:

Guilt by association and the demonization of certain opinions is always a terrible thing.

Oh boy. If you think the Arabs are a native population to Palestine, you need to read up. They got there the same ways the Jews did. Conquest and settlement.

Palestinians didn't physically displace any population though, they're just the end-result of all the peoples who lived on that land.

Remove that GG avatar you hypocrite, you're exactly like the kind of people who try to blackball pro-GG game devs from making a living.

Isn't this pretty much the same thing that pro-Palestinian groups like the BDS movement try to do? Only you support it when they do.
Isn't this pretty much the same thing that pro-Palestinian groups like the BDS movement try to do? Only you support it when they do.
BDS is about boycotting companies, not blackballing young individuals and trying to stop them from getting jobs.
Good thing it's already illegal to protest Israel on college campuses in California. I can't get put on a list when I can't even protest in the first place!

Yeah, don't tell other people to read up. Palestinians are shown by genetic study to have population cores all the way back to pre-historic times. They aren't Arabs and are closer genetically to Israeli Jews.

ITT rejecting the concept that Palestinians should be kicked out of the place they've been living in for centuries constitutes terrorism.

US took California from Russian Colony. Remove Hamburger, and return the rightful Russian Minority Lands.
Palestinians didn't physically displace any population though, they're just the end-result of all the peoples who lived on that land.
Do you actually know who the Palestinians were?
Keyword here is "were". Past tense. The original Palestinians you're talking about who never displaced anybody haven't existed for several millennia now.
And that's because they were conquered and displaced. The original Palestinians were a combination of Phoenicians (Canaanites) and Hebrews together. But since that time, just within the history of the ancient world, they were conquered and bred out of existence by the Egyptians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans.
And again, that's just within the history of the ancient world. The ones that live there today are the result of that history, plus the more recent history of conquest and breeding by Arabs, Turks, and Balkan Europeans beginning with the Byzantines after the split and fall of the Roman Empire, continuing with the Sassanids and other Middle Easterners/North Africans, and most recently ending with the dissolution of the Ottoman Empire.
TL;DR the Palestinian people are/have been both the displaced and the displacers, the cause and the result simultaneously
Wait, why is being supportive of a native population of the area which is currently in control of Israel is scary?
because it's the same thing as being pro-north korea. you can say whatever you want about the people that live there, but those that run it is nothing but pure evil.
No but being pro palestine is not the same as being pro isis you ding dong
both the PA/Hamas and ISIS both kill innocents, take children hostages, suicide attack, kill people with different ideologies or people that dare speak against them... nah, they're pretty much the same in my book

yeah that's pretty terror-y to me

a false accusation of supporting misogyny =/= a true accusation that you're helping a country that's run by radicals that would like nothing more than to see themselves the kings of ashes

If we're ascribing and damning people for the crimes of their "region" then we as Americans deserve the least support out of anyone.
And I'm not going to abandon more than a million people just because they've been let down by a desperate and embittered leadership.
Calling people terrorists is great for rhetoric, but you're the one who looks like a fanatic right now.
Fuck off Monkah.

See I can browbeat too.

You do understand that there is a difference between palestinians and hamas, right?
not every man, woman, and child in the gaza strip is a suicide bomber.

Whoa, do people really think this about Palestine? Your propaganda dollars at work.
Monkah, have you ever done any serious looking into these things? You're a GG supporter, just so you know, you're basically look like an idiot who has bought into the AGG narrative right now, and then you've accused GG of being terrorists ect.
Seriously, just stop and do some digging, challenge yourself.
Fuck off Monkah.
