• Can marijuana mess with your mind, even if you're not the one smoking it?

The story is that for 3 years I've been living in a duplex kinda thing, and for almost every single day I've been living here, it's smelled like weed. All day, all night. Because my neighbors are living right on top of us, that's a problem. Smoke sinks, and there are vents for it to travel through. If you compared my level and their level, you really couldn't tell a difference. If I knew that this has been messing with my mind the entire time, I could fix almost all of the problems in my life at this moment. Whenever I begin noticing the strong smell of it, not much may change. But eventually, I begin experiencing insane amounts of anxiety, anger, and frustration. All 3 of those things are very, very uncharacteristic of me, and only happen at home. Anywhere else, I'm almost always calm, collected, happy, and confident. But at home, I just fucking burst like a goddamn cork. I just found out today that second hand smoke could be my problem. Before, I always doubted that could be why and never knew what was up. So, could this be my problem?
Smoking pot/inhaling second hand pot smoke does not/will not make you experiance anxiety, anger or frustration.....
Um. Pretty sure weed is supposed to calm you down. It's all in our head, Placebo man. Also you should've asked over here: http://www.facepunch.com/forums/385-Durgs-Discussion
Sounds very weird to me, maybe it's all placebo. Either way, if you can feel the smoke where you are living you should have a talk to them so they smoke outside or inside their rooms.
Very doubtful that's what's causing your issues...
The symptoms you're describing is unlike any weed I've ever smoked, only bad thing from weed is that it makes you a tiny bit paranoid :v:
are you serious

If you were actually to be smoking it, your 'problem' of being anxious, angry, and frustrated from your home life would probably be alleviated, too.
Completely wrong, it's not from the weed, it's growing up son. Puberty is a bitch that will keep on confusing you
I knew it. But I don't think it would be a placebo, I've always been like this, only at home, ever since I moved here. I never even thought that there could've been a physical thing causing it until today. Aint that just a peach.
you're getting angry because you think it's getting you angry and the fact that you think it's affecting you is making you more and more angry it takes quite a bit of that smoke to give you a real kind of buzz, and even then you wouldn't be angry, you'd be high
It is a placebo, trust me, there's no drug(that I can think of) that's smoked and cause those symptoms, think about it, why would you smoke it if it caused that.
The symptoms you're describing is unlike any weed I've ever smoked, only bad thing from weed is that it makes you a tiny bit paranoid :v:
You say that as if it's a fact. Strong weed (such as skunk) can make you paranoid, nothing like how it's made out to be by the daily mail and shit. Weed will only "mess with you" if you already have existing problems, for example schizophrenia (which is hereditary). Weed can only unlock these problems, it does not cause them. On topic of the OP, it sounds like a placebo, even if the smoke was doing anything you'd just be happy and chilled. Could just be general angst/anxiety from being in that apartment, maybe if it doesn't feel like home to you it could trigger unpleasent emotions when you're there. I really really doubt it's got anything do with your nieghbors smoking a bit of green
It is a placebo, trust me, there's no drug(that I can think of) that's smoked and cause those symptoms, think about it, why would you smoke it if it caused that.
A placebo is caused when you believe that something is affecting you in a way that it never normally would. I never believed it did. Or even though it would.
breathing in second hand pot smoke releases a deadly neurotoxin that will shut down your brain in 10 minutes, avoid it like the plague drugs are bad mkay

[editline]2nd March 2011[/editline] As in, to your old home.
You are all wrong. Marijuana is obviously a sentient, telepathic herb and is attempting to control our bodies through our inhaling it, the pretty colors are just a side effect of it trying to keep us calm so it may utilize us more thoroughly. [editline]1st March 2011[/editline] Next thing you know, pot plants will start shouting "FEED ME SEYMOUR"

You'll get better answers here.
Note how I said a tiny bit, depending from person to person.
I just filled in the gaps
No.
Smoking pot/inhaling second hand pot smoke does not/will not make you experiance anxiety, anger or frustration.....
It can, but it would mostly be a problem with the person smoking it. Some people get really intense panic attacks from weed. And yeah it can affect you if it's second hand smoke. If your house is almost like a hotbox then it could do something, but if it's going through an air duct I doubt it's that thick when it gets to you.
weed high jacks your brain like an herbal terrorist when im not high, im thinking about getting high and feel sad, as if a piece of me is missing. life's really gray without it at this point im defiantly addicted
OP, I bet you're just taking out your stress and shit that gets bottled up without you knowing.
Unless you are under 4 years of age, or live in a shed, or I guess, smoked massive amounts of pot there will never be enough smoke hotboxed to get you stoned.
When I was younger I would sit in jamaican showers with my friends. Even when I didn't smoke I got ripped. Any experienced stoner should know this. edit: oh yeah, in a big house it definitely wouldn't work
I'm a very "experienced stoner," and I seriously disagree, but I'll just say okay.
It looks like you're just finding something to blame. It's just placebo effect.
snort the soil
Sounds like your just getting mad at people smoking their herb.
