VERY Likely that the Zodiac Killer has been found ( not alive)
The Zodiac Killer, whose serial murders terrorized northern California in the late ’60s, was a man named Earl Van Best Jr., according to a new book by Gary L. Stewart, who happens to be his biological son. Stewart’s The Most Dangerous Animal of All, as we reported Monday, is for sale now from HarperCollins after a top-secret rollout. “I’m really hoping this will bring some closure to the families of my father’s victims,” Stewart tells People.
Stewart says his father’s fingerprints match those found at the crime scene, as both have a diagonal scar.
• A handwriting expert also tied Best’s signature on his marriage certificate to letters the killer sent to media.
• And in the wildest twist of all, Stewart says that his mother, Judy, went on to marry one of the lead homicide investigators on the Zodiac case, Rotea Gilford, after being with Best as a teenager. The author suggests this connection could have embarrassed the San Francisco Police Department and caused them to “shut down” the investigation. The police “knew more than they’re willing to admit,” a HarperCollins spokesperson says.
zodiac has always given me the heebie-jeebies, not just from the pictures but from imagining the sort of afterlife he intended for his victims
Can we have a link to the article?

I'll believe it when more evidence comes to light. So many people have claimed their fathers, grandfathers, uncles, etc. were the Zodiac in the past it's pretty hard to take any claims seriously anymore.
The fact it's from a book makes me think this is bullshit.
So I started with this and half an hour later I'm reading about the Black Dahlia murders and looking at pictures of Jack the Ripper's creepy ass victims and scary music playing and I'm going to sleep in ten minutes and now I'm 99% sure my house is filled with the ghosts of famous murder victims.

The fingerprints and handwriting thing make me think otherwise.
god, do people ever shut the fuck up about this cunt?
i like reading about serial killers and stuff, but god damn, i have never read about zodiac yet i pretty much know everything about him. people need to let it rest, he's dead, most likely. the cops never caught him, so there's not much you can learn from him other than speculate and profit, like this new guy claiming to be related to him.

breaking news: man who is probably dead turns out to have been a person with a name
If this man is him:

The victim's families want closure, you dickwad. Just because you don't care doesn't mean others don't. Personally I thought this as incredible.

they want assurance that the Zodiac was a person with a name? anyone could pull crap out of their ass and claim to know who the zodiac is, the families know that and that's their closure; that they might never know who the Zodiac was.
they probably don't want to hear this bull shit anymore.
This page shows where different parts of his name were found in some of the ciphers in very close proximity.
sadly serial killers are very interesting, especially unsolved murders or overly tragic and gruesome ones. The Zodiac Killer has cemented himself as a historical figure, even if it's a very negative historical figure, and people'll keep talking about him.
it's wrong to give them attention because in many cases they want that, but it's true
Yeah, I've read several books on serial killers and actual investigators on the cases, I don't care that they get attention, they need to be studied to catch future ones, maybe prevent others, etc, etc.
The Zodiac is no fucking doubt one of the most meticulous serial killers who has ever roamed this earth, but I hate the cultural fascination around ONLY this ONE. I guess I'm being elitist since I've read about so many, and everyone and their fucking dog only talks about this guy. I've heard it a million times, I could probably write an 8 page essay on Zodiac without researching before-hand.
there's a lot of cultural fascination around others, like John Wayne Gacy, Jeffrey Dahmer, and the Green River Killer.
All you have to think about it is, as a good analogy, those others are the one-hit-wonder band while the Zodiac Killer is The Beatles. It was the perfect setup, and the perfect payout, and everything went just right for him to be launched beyond them as a cultural icon.
Fair enough, I guess I'm just being an elitist when it comes to anything pertaining to serial killers. It seems to me that all anyone talks about is this one. Yes, he's different because he was never caught, but I think we've speculated enough, milked the cow dry.
Another thing that irritates me though, is people (not the families of victims; I think they moved on with this, they don't want to hear about this anymore, has anyone even asked them?), people who don't want to accept that some killers are never found, they never get caught and they never pay for their crimes. "Sometimes the dragon wins." If anything, that's the closure. I'm certain the families have moved on. All that's left is some nobodies trying to make some cash or briefly be in the limelight by writing a book and claiming to have something on Zodiac.
How many times have the families of the victims been set up for this? Doesn't anyone think that they're tired of this? And all the while, everyone around this is just like "Wow! Zodiac was so elusive and cool!"
Hmm...this real Zodiac killer looks like DB Cooper, maybe both mysteries have been solved!
What DB Cooper may look like:

How the hell did I get from this to Jack The Ripper suspects
I really don't buy the idea that the police knew who the killer was but left him alone to avoid "PR fallout" from the fact that he was an ex of a current officers partner.
How would that even be an issue?

It's not true unless Wikipedia says it is
