Scientific theory-
Brains are very good computers. Our features evolved by luck over millions of years are the reason why we are sentient and here. We get born, we die, they get born, they die, those are born, they die. We are designed to make successors . our successors make successors.
all religions (that i know off)
God(s) created us for entertainment. Similar to how A person can make a computer game. it/they want worship. An afterlife exists. What's the point of the afterlife? What is the point in the god's life?
I belive to point of life is to fuck and survive, there is no reason for you any living thing to actually be on this planet or any planet for that matter,
The point of life, opposes death.
In that, the duality defines purpose from the exact opposite definitions handed together in the great balance of things.
hence, Death gives meaning to life. As you realize that death it's self makes your actions here, unique.
So it all depends on how much of a mark you wish to leave on everything.
This offset, is your purpose, and choice.
Then extending the purpose simply to be, what you will it.
To live it.
No, there's not, but why should it fucking matter anyway? The fact that ANYTHING exists is so incredibly unlikely that it's bloody amazing there's a universe here in the first place, let alone you as a conscious observer to enjoy it - nonexistence makes so much more sense.
Just try to enjoy yourself, make good friends, enjoy their company, make the most of what the universe has to offer. There doesn't need to be some ultimate goal to aspire to. Just... enjoy the time you've got.
Pirate Ninja is correct our sentiense is simply a by-product of evolution through many, many years, but even though many think us to be a designed creature is probably wrong. All we know for certain is that the way our cells are build and split is close to that of bacteria and the way we feel about sex and cellular mitosis is close to that of every other mammal on the face of the planet.
So what meaning is left besides eating, fucking and sleeping? I don't know you find out for yourself...
Believing our purpose is simply to procreate is as fallacious as any other theory for the meaning of life.
Any objective purpose would be entirely arbitrary. The very purpose of a cattle's life is just to produce food for us. Doesn't mean they have self-interested reasons to ascribe their whole existence towards being tasty.
There is three ways to look at it.
One, scientific. "Nothing exists safe for that , which does."
I always find the scientific strict, understanding to be very limited because you can only understand what you directly observe. Which then leaves no room for free radical error/understanding.
Instead, it states basically in this case that life is an illusion created by our mind construct.
Which then misses the point entirely, by limiting the view to being "what we see".
When life it's self could have a further purpose far beyond what we can see. Hence, scientific understanding to this question is tooooooo limited to bring about what could be the possibility, unless we find a "source". Observation is all science can ever do and remain scientific.
The second way is the social analytical. Which is separate from both other types in the fact that it limits it's self severely to the perceptions of what is "wants" within the social system. Hence the person who uses this view would argue that life is what you make of it. That life it's self is only for our joy, and experience. That life is so we can live for this one moment of bliss or pain.
The third way to look at it is the "magic" way. Which could simply be called the "undiscovered science" way. Basically the open view of possibility. It states rules that all in a odd theoretical yet chaotic way makes sense, and yet at the same time is only a rambling of imagination. Logically constructed this way basically dictates yet there can be many other opinions, that life and death are related to each other.
Since this cannot be proven this is "magic".
Life and death being related to each other are then somehow the related principle needed to be the purpose of life. These two ways express in each other when they finally relate to "us" our way through life.
None of these three ways are "wrong" as they are all perceptions on the same issue.
Two of them cannot ever be proven wrong, but science can be proven wrong if it finally finds the source and realizes that none of it is close to the theory once presented by initial perception. However, in that realizing the flaw science then becomes correct through a adjusted hypothesis.
So these three "ways" are correct in finding the answer, abiet they can never be proven wrong as they are all opinion on the subject. Just like any statement really.
Not a single mathematical formula expressing a physical rule is ever correct, nor is a single statement made by the human mind ever true in all totality.
It is all based on what Level you chose to express the subject in question.
There is a fourth way however, this is the mysticism way and it is always wrong hence not really needing to be mentioned as one of the ways. This way states that if you slay a goat on the fourth moon apocalypse will happen and god will tell us what is the way. Hence, utter bullshit.
The reason I say that this is the only wrong way, is simple. Following this way has only lead to "nothing happening" which means that when anylized through all three other methods means that this way is utter bullshit and basically doesn't exist.
Since whatever this way does cannot be observed, only causes the opposite effect socially, and doesn't make a ounce of sense. This way successfully fails on all accounts of provability/ the main idea of something entirely.
