Could Trump's entire presidential campaign be one long publicity stunt for future 'Trump TV'?
On Wednesday night the campaign worked with a conservative live-streaming site called Right Side Broadcasting to produce pre-game and post-game shows for the debate.
The stream reached millions of Trump's fans through his Facebook page, and was the most popular debate-related Facebook Live programming of the night.
While the viewership was still small compared to traditional television coverage of the debate, it generated tons of press, with some stories asking "did Trump TV launch last night?"
The stream looked like a no-frills version of a cable news channel -- albeit a version that was pro-Trump through and through.
Media experts and politicos have been abuzz about the prospect of "Trump TV" -- a post-election network aimed at Trump fans -- for months. Every time Trump plays to his base at the expense of appealing to swing voters, observers wonder if he's really just stoking the passions of his future paying audience.
After Wednesday's debate, Daily Beast editor in chief John Avlon said on CNN, "He basically teased the opening season of Trump TV."
Clinton campaign aides have also invoked the possibility. In the spin room after the debate, Clinton press secretary Brian Fallon was asked about Trump's appealing-to-the-base strategy, and he said, "Maybe it's a strategy for creating a nice base of customers to monetize a television network."
:tinfoil:
Ah so that's where that "Trump buys 2 kids" skit comes from.
This might be only slightly funny if it wasn't our fucking future at stake.
More stupid CNN smearing with zero proof. Why would he spend millions upon millions of dollars on a campaign just to later launch an experimental venture when he's 70 years old?
Reality has become TV
TV has become Reality
nothing is exists on purpose
we're all going to die some day
come watch trump tv with me

Well I think the options are,
A) He's not doing this for Trump TV and he's proven himself a complete idiot regarding all things
B) He is doing this for Trump TV and he's proven himself a complete idiot regarding all things
"Trump TV" sounds like a punk song
Why is nobody saying that Clinton is prepping for "Clinton TV" with this election? She has 10X the money behind her, it's all a publicity stunt I say. With zero evidence.

because she's isn't tanking her own campaign by increasingly pandering to 2/5ths of the population in the final days of the election?

because he is 70 years old and decided "fuck it why not"

Probably because Trump has already done Reality television and would love to stay in the limelight since he's an attention whore.
Clinton is less of an egomaniac, and more of a power hungry person interested in cementing her political legacy.
From my perspective this is something I could see Trump doing, competing with Alex Jones for the crazy conspiritard viewership.

King Tiger stop prepping for King Tiger TV this isn't the time
This isn't even really slander or anything against Trump it's just speculation.
No reason to get all up in arms about it lol.
That being said, this wouldn't surprise me.

Because "Trump TV" has been a rumored thing to happen for most of the year now?

The Trump TV theory is backed with circumstantial evidence. According to the article, Trump launched something pretty interesting on his facebook.

Clinton hasn't launched her own little thing (Unless you count CNN, but that's a whole other theory).
I always had this funny thought that trump just takes part in this for fun or for some sort of stunt.
One day he will just say "It was just a prank." and quits or it was for some other means, like publicity or to make money.
Just a weird thought I had.
The other thing is that "Trump TV" would fill the vacuum created by Fox News and Glenn Beck becoming less hard-right. He's got a huge supporter base, he's well known at this point for promoting himself as a brand... It seems like a really solid business move honestly, and possibly quite lucrative. I have no idea why King Tiger is getting so up in arms about the idea, if Trump doesn't win it's certainly a nice alternative to sulking or calling for the recount of votes in every single state (which I could also see him doing).
Whilst I doubt he's running the campaign just for the sake of a reality TV show, no matter what happens it's going to generate a ton of publicity for him, which is probably a boon whatever way he looks at it.
RCBN is a tiny service organized by a few people and totally user supported. Citing it as evidence of some coming Trump media empire is a joke and if you believe it you're deluded.
I really doubt it was a stunt for a TV channel but I hope 'Trump TV' won't be a thing. If it is, though, it might indeed be the new demagogue channel while Fox News shifts a bit to the left (as in less right). Might change America's culture long-term to give the 'deplorables' a new channel to watch, hope it completely fails, though.
Trump does remind me more and more of Silvio Berlusconi of Italy. Disgusting human being and elderly lech, hugely into media and manipulation, self-delusional and an ego the size of Mt. Everest. Hopefully unlike Berlusconi in the past, Trump will never catch on after this election is over.

this is beyond the lack of awareness you usually see in 'both candidates are the same!' arguments, man
like the dude has spent his time since the 80's making himself out to be a big shot celebrity business man with dozens of boisterous properties all centered around his name and face. He's done several TV shows, he's made lines of food, water, a college, 'charities', any little thing that can make a quick buck before it implodes. He's made tons of appearances on TV shows of all flavors, from talkshows to dramas to commercials to wrestling to his own business reality gameshow nonsense, he's got gift shops and merchandise that are also all about how great he is, and above all else, he has an ego that demands more of it.
He decided 'why the fuck not' and made a mad dash past any political experience straight for the title of 'leader of the free world' by being his big showy self and regardless of whether he was serious or not about actually GETTING this far, you can sure as shit bet he'll coast on his infamy with a reality TV show about himself. Many people have been predicting he'd play it off like this since the start of the year, with one guess being that he'd straight up make a 'how I would've done it' show touting how good he would have been as president via the (comedy?) news angle, so he could keep stirring the beehive that is his political followership, else he just fades into obscurity trying to do businessy things as usual, after he's been so broadly exposed for a lot of shady business practices
meanwhile, clinton is a life-long politician who'll remain in politics win or lose, because it's already her job to run shit that affects our country

I don't think he's doing all this to launch a TV channel, but spending millions of dollars to launch a product makes more business sense than just failing to run for president.
It's all speculation and I find it very unlikely, but I wouldn't call it smearing as such - Trump is running a shit campaign, and it only makes sense to ask "Why?". Either you have to accept that Trump is a retarded idiot, or else that he's somehow planning to get something out of this.

you are right and wrong. when you look at everyone he has brought into his campaign in the last 4 months it does make a compelling argument, breitbart, infowars, the former head of fox and a dozen other right wing pundits. i dont doubt theyre floating a trump media conglomerate for when this is over but i cant believe trump is that forward thinking. i think he did legitimatly want to become the president and it was a coincidence that they brought in all these far right people, however his suragates have been meeting with the former head of fox who in only a few months time could and probably would be interested in starting a new media company and trump has the perfect brsnd to do it. it wouldnt be out of the ordinary either since fox hired palin and built her a studio in alaska to appear as a regular caster after her race

well she's not famous for being in a reality show now is she
"Trump TV" sounds like a punk song
I think it's in Green Day's new album Revolution Radio...
Its funny to see people getting triggered just because of a rumor around a TV channel.

It's called investing. You spend a few million of your own money, get billions in free advertising (your 'angel investors') from media sources, preemptively rile up your fans about the rigged system before voting happens, then profit massively of your angry fan base who will most definitely hate a Clinton in the System. Then you just have to go and shit on literally anything that happens during the presidency and make bank.
King Tiger stop prepping for King Tiger TV this isn't the time
This might be the sassiest comment I've ever read on FP.
He is setting himself up for a Win-Win situation,
if he can't get the Oval office he can give Fox-news a run for it's money and milk his right-wing audience.
Gotta give him credit where it's due, even though he is still shady as fuck.
