That is absolutely amazing.
I kind of want to see how it works now.
That is really fucking fascinating. That water is ingenious as well. Oh my God.

That writer automaton is the most hypnotizing thing I have ever seen, I can't fathom the amount of work that went into it..
I live about 10 minutes from where the swan is kept, real neat seeing it work in person

That's absolutely fucking insane, I mean it's one thing to sit here in this day and age and think "god damn that's complicated". But imagine yourself 240 years ago, seeing something like this. That's just crazy.
When you realize all those little interacting pieces were all manually filed to exact fit by hand..these weren't human creations, but Dwemer.
I don't think I'd be exaggerating by saying that these automatons are the definition of "beautiful"
There's also the Peacock Clock in Hermitage, one of the largest working automatons in the world:

The movie Hugo from 2011 had a similar automaton to the writer

although it would be cool to see some modern clockwork automatons that are original in concept
I was completely unaware that stuff like this existed. I don't even know what to say, that writer automaton is mind-boggling.
I'm pretty sure the whole documentary was posted here a year or two ago, but I can't find it anymore
