He makes an interesting point
Exactly how I've felt about it.
This man is saying what I am trying to tell my friends.
The "you never did anything before so why do something now" argument is ridiculously stupid. So what, should we just ignore it like we always have?
It'll spread like wildfire, it will get more people to notice, finally do something, donate, etc.
Why don't we stabilize the global economy before we get involved in another problem.

Did you not watch the whole video or
he failed to mention the part where invisible children pockets the donation money
Why don't we stabilize the global economy before we get involved in another problem.
That would take a good while
This guy is annoying as fuck, but he does have a good point.

Yes I did. It was dumb to even mention.

But why should people suffer badly when our governments could relatively easily help them, but simply don't, just because there's no profit to be gained?
It just seems unfair to the people in africa that they have to suffer while we can go on with our dandy lives and complain about how unfair and bad our economy is, while they have to fight over life or death on a daily basis.
Our governments are doing stuff about it. Seriously, look up foreign Aid programs for your local government, I know Australia is involved in a lot of 3rd world countries providing aid.

I am more annoyed by the fact that there are a lot of people in my general area going on and shouting about how kony is a bad man and that direct military action in Uganda needs to be taken.
All they have done is watch the viral video, and based all their facts and opinions off of it.

Not baring in mind the fact if this guy does have child soldiers (which is hugely exaggerated), some of them will have to die to get to him.
Its a problem that needs solving, but Kony2012 is a fucking scam.
if you really gave a shit, you would DONATE
even then, money would most likely go to the same people that corrupt Uganda, it's a frustrating idea, which is why I never even bother with Africa.
Experts have been on the economic merits of getting this part of Africa straightened out. I was at a "talk" a few months ago and this guy who's been researching this since '90 assured us that on the surface no one sees value. but in reality. the country to straightens this out stands to gain major political influence on north-eastern african affairs and Trillions of dollars. I don't remember the particulars but it was like "well fuck! why so fuzzy about the Middle-East then?".
I also have family that's been direct victims to this. My aunts brother spent months in a hole in the ground and her mother was lost in the forest for days. That was one of their raids.
Basically, they're border-hopping. Whenever it gets too hot, they just skip along to the next country in the region for a time.
A few hundred UN troops is all that's "Helping" in the conflict down there and they can't take action beyond self-defence since (get this. it's so rich) the UN is trying to talk him into stopping... to bargain.

I still think that is a better alternative than sending a military force into a foreign country.
I'll spend my money on myself thank you, not invisible children
this kony shit is annoying, he's been killing for decades and no one has given a shit until recently
What I don't like about the whole movement is how everyone always goes on about how the U.S shouldn't be the "world police", but when they see a sad youtube video they suddenly start demanding we do something. Honestly, fuck you.
This whole awareness thing people keep thinking will solve everthing reminds me of this:

For those who having been living under a rock for the recent months:

Yes, apparently he was a Christian extremist along with his terrorist group, as evidenced by these quotes from the top of the wikipedia article:
Joseph Kony (born c. 1961)[1] is a Ugandan guerrilla group leader, head of the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA). While initially enjoying strong public support, the LRA turned brutally on its own supporters, supposedly to "purify" the Acholi people and turn Uganda into a theocracy ruled by the Ten Commandments.[2] The LRA is a militant group with a syncretic Christian extreme religious ideology, known for the atrocities they commit against civilians, including murder, mutilations, rape, and in some accounts even cannibalism.[6]
Directed by Kony, the LRA has earned a reputation for its actions against the people of several countries, including northern Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo, South Sudan, and Sudan. It has abducted and forced an estimated 66,000 children to fight for them, and has forced the internal displacement of over 2 million people since its rebellion began in 1986.[7] In 2005 Kony was indicted for war crimes by the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Netherlands, but has evaded capture.[8

This man is going too far with this stuff, now he wants to be famous on youtube? Nope. [sp]Hopefully[/sp] not gonna happen. that is unless its the public turning the US's attention to this murdering asshole and eventually have the US start taking him on like they did Bin Laden.
