LeBron James told ESPN.com that he does not let his sons, LeBron Jr. and Bryce Maximus, play football.
When asked whether the reason for his decision was the health dangers related to football, James replied, "Yes."
"Only basketball, baseball and soccer are allowed in my house," James said hours before leading the Cleveland Cavaliers to a victory over the Denver Nuggets.

I played football for 6 years and I agree with him on this. It's a very taxing sport and I've gotten countless injuries from it. In other news I bought his new line of Nike shoes and they are the most comfortable thing I've ever put on my foot.

Well playing ball in the house doesn't sound safe either

I've met some dentists who were rich enough to have a full sized court in their basement. He can manage.
Meh after watching Lebron flop for years in a non-contact sport, I don't think I'd want to watch his sons play football
On topic, I also played football and without a doubt would let my sons play. Some of the best times of my life.

Its a big house
Smart move on his part.
Good on him.
Football is a very dangerous sport especially to kids who's heads are pretty fragile and can suffer severe brain damage.
I would love to play American football. Actual Football is a bit to calm for my taste.
I had some great times in football but almost fucked up my knees really badly
To be fair, basketball, especially if you wish to go into professional takes a massive toll on your knees.
Football still has its grievous share of injuries as well, even if you condition and build your body for a certain role, you're still in for a world of hurt.
Their loss
Kid on the left is looking fly as fuck. Oh by the way you forgot to link your tumblr under your account, is there anywhere else I can follow your blog?

you are on a forum made for and filled with sad nerds you sad nerd
I dunno, if hes talking health dangers... I've seen people carted off a basketball court because of a cramp. In soccer they think that a kick to the shin is suddenly a life/death experience and fall to the ground hurt.
Let your kids decide what sport they want to play. Theres "health dangers" in everything. If the kids want to play Rugby, let them play rugby. If they want to play hockey, let them play hockey.

its amazing how much FP advocates for childrens' rights + consent, but are ok with some parent limiting what sports they can play.
Thats hypocritical.
I wonder if he's aware of airsoft :v:

For you.
Arent you required to wear helmets and stuff in american football anyway.
Flag football is fun and isn't as taxing, hopefully they're at least allowed to play that for fun.
Arent you required to wear helmets and stuff in american football anyway.
all that does is give the players a false sense of security and they run at each other full clip and get traumatic brain injuries.

Some pads and a helmet isn't going to prevent a few hundred pound man of pure muscle from breaking your leg or another part of your body.
I wouldn't let my non-existent kid play football either. No pigskin in this house, mister.

What blog?
James elaborated on his thoughts Thursday.
"We don't want them to play in our household right now until they understand how physical and how demanding the game is. Then they can have their choice in high school, we'll talk over it," he said. "But right now there's no need for it. There's enough sports they can play. They play basketball, they play soccer, they play everything else but football and hockey."
"It's a safety thing," James continued. "As a parent you protect your kids as much as possible. I don't think I'm the only one that's not allowing his kids to play football, it's just that I'm LeBron James and it gets put in the headlines for no reason."
Sounds like a good parent.

Did you buy the Lebron 12s or the lebron zoom soldier 8s? I agree with you that both Lebron's signature shoe line are comfortable,
Kid on the left looks like he'll get all the bitches in high school.
Baseball isn't really a safe sport either if you're a pitcher. I know a lot of guys who pitched in high school and had to have surgery on their arms.
