The new biopic of the late Apple creator and tech visionary Steve Jobs starring Ashton Kutcher bombed at the box office on its opening weekend. According to the WSJ, “Jobs” appears to be Hollywood’s version of the Apple Lisa.
The movie opened in seventh place, generating only $6.7 million despite opening broadly in the U.S. and Canada.
Critics characterized “Jobs” as lacking any of the attention to detail or stream-lined focus that Mr. Jobs brought to his projects.
Also irritating some movie goers and Steve Jobs admirers is the fact that the film stops short of Jobs' triumphant return to the company he co-founded and the game changing innovations he made at the helm of Apple throughout the last decade
It's a movie with 12 million for its budget. Not going to make everything back in one weekend.

It's also 25 percent at RT now.

Ashton Kutcher on the other hand looks a lot like Jobs

But seriously though, who didn't expect this movie to suck; just go watch Pirates of Silicon Valley if you want a more accurate portrayal.

Oh I thought this was some economy-related thing about low wages etc
Never heard about this honestly what is it

It's fucking scary how much Ashton Kutcher looks like a young Jobs.
Good. Most biopics are uninspired cashcow Oscar bait.
It should have been directed by the guy who did The Social Network.
I saw the movie. It wasn't as bad as everyone says it is. I liked it.

now that was a good biographical movie
It seemed like a cash-in for The Social Network but too little and far too late.
I mean, you could make a movie about Steve and have it be good but this was obviously just here to try and win Oscars and sucker people in on the success of "rich nerds". Next we will probably see a movie about Bill Gates.
You'll never be able to beat Pirates of Silicon Valley.
I enjoyed the movie, actually. The accuracy doesn't really matter to me. I thought it showcased a decent portrayal, and there were some really awesome parts in my opinion. I can definitely see why a lot of people didn't like it, though. Especially with how slow-paced it was at times.
Not once when seeing this did I want to watch it. Jobs is a great guy and innovator but honestly I don't care to spend money on a ticket.
all the reviews and trailors ive seen seem to basicly say the same thing, that the movie is over-embelished and very disjointed. i think the other problem here is jobs's life is actually very well known compared to say zuckleburg, so if you want to make an overembelished movie about him, people are gonna catch on
Good. Fewer people going to see it means fewer middle managers watching it and deciding that the key to success is being a raging abusive asshole to everyone who works for you. A whole generation of low-income workers have to suffer petty abuse by their managers because he popularized the management technique of "all asshole, all the time."
