A woman who checked into a hotel room in Gateshead said she found the words "I'm going to rape you" on the TV screen.
She was staying at the Whitemare Pool Travelodge hotel, on Wednesday, when she found the message.
The hotel removed the words, apologised and gave her a refund when she informed staff.
Travelodge said it believed someone may have used the TV manufacturer's code to change the settings.
Interesting circumstances, which led to woman living in a hotel for free.
I'd be scared shitless at first before realising this is probably nothing but a sick joke.

thank you for this recap of ten seconds of reading
After watching the Blacklist for so long, I'd flip the fuck out and probably get extremely paranoid.
I imagine for the average person this kind of shit would probably be scary for a while too. Fear is a shitty feeling.
haha i'm going to rape you
jokes lol
The fireplace will have to escape the fence before it does anything to me.
Took me a moment to realise that the fireplace is the video on screen, the grey box is a dialogue popup
I am going to rape..... some great hotel offers & sales on you!

Yeah, I thought the "I'M GOING TO RAPE YOU" message was a message hanging off of a fence that was actually in the room.
Reminds me of that one X-Files episode with the obscure screen messages. Freaky as all hell.
I can imagine it being quite spooky to see those words on caps on your own room's tv. Just look at the picture.

Uh no, I'd probably seriously freak out considering I'd be alone in a hotel room with hundreds of people nearby who could break into my room and assault me, and be on the road before anyone even knows what happened. That'd be terrifying to see that, I'd definitely be on edge the whole time I was there
she put it there to get a free room obviously
to be honest after seeing that I don't think I'd want to take the chance even if I could stay for free.
Dammit TV, stop threatening to rape the customers. You're killing our margins!
maybe this is just the new way Comcast lets you know your bill is late

a guy would also get the room for free if the tv threatens to rape them, correct?

But the question here is would you really accept that free offer in a hotel if someone in there was going to rape you

Assuming the guy complained like the woman did in the story, yes.

in an ideal world this would be a superb ironic post but sadly this is facepunch
she put it there to get a free room obviously
Wow, yeah, I need to try this next time I'm in a hotel.
why even bring this up
guys get raped by tv's all the time, this is no laughing matter.

the real insufferable thing here are asinine posts that have nothing to do with the thread
[editline]ad[/editline]
imagine jumping at an article about a pregnant cat getting trapped in a tree just to say that it happens to male cats all the time
It's actually part of a marketing campaign for a Maximum Overdrive remake.
