Wait this is completely user made? Dat voice acting.

According to the annotations and descriptions, I don't think the creator is using fan-made voice acting, but rather edited existing content from Mass Effect from the first one down to the DLCs and such. There's some obvious sloppiness so far but the mod is WIP at the moment so it would be nice to see it down to a perfect polished state. Other than that it's some pretty good editing.

it may be a WIP but its still much better than the current endings
I much prefer Shepard dying/being buried. The whole experience feels really cheap if he survives all that shit without harm.

survives without harm? look at him, hes covered in injuries, and he will probably have many scars from that
holy shit
THIS is how it should fucking been
instead of HURR URR YOU DONT UNDERSTAND OUR ARTISTIC CHOICES THIS IS THE BEST ENDING EVER DONE!
That was kinda disappointing.
I honestly preferred Shepard dying because it gave something to the weight of it all.
I like how Shephard has female animations when he puts up the sign. :v:
i kind of agree with apocca though, a hero's sacrifice makes the entire thing more poignant
[editline]8th November 2012[/editline]
however i'm still glad this mod is being made, because some people put a lot of effort into trying to keep shepard alive and him dying in every single ending isn't the best way to go probably
I agree. I think they should have let the player decide whether they want a hero's death, or have Shepard continue to live, albeit not without scars, physically and mentally. Saving the galaxy from a threat that countless other civilizations couldn't withstand isn't going to leave you unscathed.

but depending on your choice of background he's not a tragic hero so it doesnt make any sense from a writing standpoint to make him "sacrifice" himself.
making him die because it's cool or impacts people emotionally is cheap, fanfiction-level writing. it also kind of throws out the whole "mass effect is a nod to 60s-70s sci-fi" motif.
The artistic integrity is strong with this one.

But it's completly against the nature of both Mass effect 1 and 2, which if you do everything right have happy endings, the heroic death is fine for 1 ending, but who thought it was a good idea for all of them to be like that.

Also this is like, exactly how I felt the ending would be before the game came out, they did a really good job on this.
This should have been the ending dlc.

The final battle changed him, in so many ways.....
Shepard putting Anderson's name on the wall was easily as sad as watching Mordin go up in that elevator. I really hope Bioware sees this and takes notes.

Do cease and desist letters count as notes?

I love how they say that, if I wrote a story with a ending that didn't make sense for class then tried to tell my English teacher that I'dd still get an F
Anyway if this guy had the resources of bioware to do the CGI and other things then I'm sure it would be a better ending, but all the unmatching cutscenes kind of ruins it for me.

There are actually quite a few people throwing in their support and creating new content to fit the ending. I'm currently in charge of coming up with a more appropriate "Normandy Flying Into Space" to replace the Normandy flying off to Mars in that final shot.
this just reminds me of how bad the ending was :(

Yeah I think I was better off having forgot this game ever existed

The thing is Bioware promised all sorts of endings. Eventually all that changed was different colors and a few model swaps.
If the game had been made the way they promised it would be it would have been normal to expect endings that range from total fucking hope-destroying sadness to pure disney happiness. And to be honest I'd be totally okay with that.

thats not artistic you philistine
you probably wanted a FINAL BOSS IN YOUR VIDEO GAME too huh you pleb???
Wow that was better than any ending bioware came up with, it wasn't too overly YAY HAPPY YOU DID IT, but didn't leave me feeling like I serviced a glory hole for the final game
I just....I....the game....you know?
What's the point? Any edited endings won't be cannon anyway.
survives without harm? look at him, hes covered in injuries, and he will probably have many scars from that
Yeah but he's saying that for the same reason I want Chief to die at the end of Halo.
The emotional tragedy of the hero dying carves the experience into your mind, and the closure at the end stops the bleeding, what you are left with is the scar of your story's legacy.
