The art looks very nice.
but card game/board game/RPG?

It actually sounds really cool.
So this explains the lack of work being put towards minecraft.
Well as long as Minecraft is finished (comprehensively) by the end of the year I suppose this is fine
I'm not quite sure what to think yet. I will reserve judgement until I see the final product.
Sounds boring.
It's going to tank lol
He should continue with Minecraft, instead of wasting time on something that might not even make money.
Do you need autism to play this too?

uh not really
it's not like everyone in the office is working on minecraft
This idea has been done before.
Better have creepers :colbert:
Newsflash: they've been working on both games side by side for some time now.
Watch http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2pp/minecraft-the-story-of-mojang again and see how many times they mention "the game that shall not be named". Recall that this was recorded at the start of the year.
Minecraft was only successful due to social phenomena.
Notch still is a n00b programmer (memory leaks, bugs, not to mention the whole thing being written in java etc...)
I would rather them rebuild Minecraft from the ground up in it's own game engine and finish it...
I hope it doesn't impact the continuous development of Minecraft in the long run
Man I was seriously hoping it would have to do with space since lots of rumors were floating around saying it would be a space game.
Space is fucking awesome. I'll give this a try.
Sounds... eh, I dunno. I don't like the idea of having to buy new packs of cards and stuff, especially if they're only virtual.
Do you need autism to play this too?
:frog:
I'll try it. I think it sounds fun.
You have to buy card packs?
I hope it's not with actual money, because then this will just be a case of whoever has the deepest pockets.
I've never been a big fan of card games like this. I'll end up skipping it, might try it if it gets enough buzz.
Sounds like its trying to focus too much on one particular part of the market to become a success. Eh.
I love minecraft, but this doesn't make everything mojang makes actually good, to be honest this new game looks like some shit indy game on steam that you wouldn't look twice at

Right... "working"...
Anyways, this idea actually sounds really boring. I want to like you mojang but wow this is pretty meh.
I remember one of them saying something like. "Our new game might be a genre that not a lot of our current customers will like, but we feel it will still do well."
Well, they got the first part right.

I don't like that I'd have to buy new card packs. I sunk way too much money into Magic.
Mojang really should have as newbs said, work on getting minecraft to a proper bug free playable stable state, and recode in something other than java.
Also, who in their right mind would follow up minecraft with a game like Scrolls, Notch seriously should have considered alternate routes, maybe adding an ingame poll to find out what the userbase of minecraft actually likes before going off and making a new game. Because lets be honest unless you already own minecraft and therefore know of Mojang, who the fuck else will buy this game ?
Sounds like it might be similar to Phantasy Star Online Episode III: Card Revolution

who ever said it was a follow up to minecraft?
i'm pretty excited for this tbh, and it's nice to see diversity from an indie studio
