I've driven past that warehouse, it's massive. By far the biggest building I've ever seen.
I wish my warehouse had robots bring the product to me...
They're like cute little industrial-strength Roombas. I like how they've also got real names (if that's what the green labels are for).
Can these robots make Amazon a useful site for non americans?
Ah for the days when automation allows us to all become fat slobs mooching off welfare. They surely can't be far off now.

Pulling orders to ship without those bots must be a nightmare with how huge some of those centers are.

Until that is automated as well.

Working in the warehouses without them is terrible and exhausting. 11 miles in one shift is a bit much.
That and running around like crazy while you have a timer in your hand is bleh. I'd definitely prefer these robots bring the stuff to me, not I have to run halfway across the warehouse to get the item I want if I were some warehouse worker.

Think of the pure efficiency. Instead of having to walk and find one thing and bring it back, taking you 15 minutes, or you grabbing a list of a few things and spending 25 collecting 3 or 4 and bringing them back, you can sit in one spot while these things just endlessly move the product to you. The number of orders you can push because of that probably increases by thousands of % over physically wandering for miles throughout your day

I used to work in a warehouse that sold books on Amazon. It was a third-party seller but any type of warehouse duty that involves shipping online orders is pretty similar, just scaled down depending on where you go. The place I worked at I probably walked at least 100 miles a day going in between all of the aisles and climbing ladders and pulling orders. After pulling orders I'd spend more time looking for any mis-shelved inventory, which also involved a lot of walking around. Then, I'd go around and look for places to actually shelve new inventory. Amazon is pretty on point with all of that stuff, just sucks that their workers are put through a lot of physical stress. I couldn't imagine doing that without some kind of assistance, even if it meant passing orders off to another person halfway down the warehouse so they can pick them up and relay them back to me.
