Android fanboys are going to love this one.

Except some people just like the build quality, the way the iPhone works, iOS aesthetics, the backup feature, the iTunes ecosystem, iMessage, FaceTime, and 3 year old devices still getting the new iOS. Heck, I'm still using a backup I started back with my iPod touch 2nd generation in 2008. All of the photos I saved/took (I don't save/took many photos) from that time are still right there on my camera roll.
There are still plenty of excuses to buy an iPhone over an Android. I must say, Android has far more features and I love that it's extremely customizable, but I love iMessage and couldn't possibly give it up. Once you are able to see when people read your message, and when they're composing a response, it's incredibly hard to go back to standard SMS. Also still being able to get the newest iOS on a device which came out in 2011 is also pretty nice. It all boils down to your own personal preference, in the end, and that's all that matters anyway.
I just like the freedom of android. They don't care what you do to your phone, unlike apple. Both are amazing in their own ways, but it's personal preference.

what android phones do this? other than like the nexus 5? which doesn't have premium internals, nor does it have the build quality or customer support to back it up

I don't understand this mentality of having to prove why your phone is the best. Most people just buy iPhones because they're all they need. If you have a reason to buy a different smartphone, go ahead, no one's stopping you. You're not any better than people who use iPhones, there are just a few features that some other phone has that you would like in a phone. People buy iPhones because they're nice looking and don't have much of a learning curve. No one needs an "excuse".
Apple understands this and tries as hard as they can not to add too many features that your average Joe won't be using every day.

Matter of preference, some people prefer different operating systems to others. Windows Phone had absolutely nothing going for it at the start when you compared it to Android and iOS at the time but it turned out fine enough when you compare it to something like the Blackberry Z10.

LG G3. Same size. Higher resolution. Faster processor. 50 bucks on Amazon w/ your 2 year.

I swear that with every phone release tens of thousands of dollars are spent on phones simply so they can be destroyed and uploaded on Youtube.

you have to be a jackass to engineer a case for a phone with such a malleable metal.
He should do this with a nokia.
probably would need a few more hammers.

I dunno, liquid nitrogen is pretty fucking brutal, man. Nitrogen at its liquid state is between 63 and 77 Kelvin, which is around -360 Fahrenheit. They use the stuff on warts, it literally freezes the entire section of skin to death. It burns.

Part of the problem is they also went with that flat back. On the HTC One (M7 & M8) they have a curve on the back. The curve helps greatly in preventing the phone from bending.

does this happen with the regular 6 model? Cause I kinda wanted one, it'd be my first smartphone.
If the standard-sized 6 doesn't bend as easily, perhaps that could imply that the 6 Plus was introduced later in development, after whatever bend-test they did on the 6, and they just figured it'd be about the same?
Doesn't matter what kind of phone it is. It's always to see any kind of sophisticated electronics suffer torture tests.

Not really related to Will It Blend, but I got an interview with BlendTec as a product demonstrator last year.
They make very nice blenders.

I've never had an Android phone that sucked. I've dropped all my phones like a klutz on multiple occasions, and the only one that couldn't stand the heat was my iPhone 3G, whose ringer and power switch broke after about a year of use. I've been using a Galaxy Nexus (yes, the old one) for the past two years, and before that I had my HTC MyTouch for two years. Both were insanely cheap and have served me amazingly.
Every time someone says, "Hey, what Android phone could possibly replace my iPhone" I think the burden should be placed on them. How about do some shopping yourself, and how about stop trying to think everything needing to be a 1:1 replacement of the iPhone - especially when there's a ton of Android phones for sale with the various generations and few flavors of the new iPhones?
The build quality of an iPhone is definitely questionable in my eyes, what with all the cracked screens and horror stories I've heard about the iPhone, and this thread is the antithesis to anyone saying the iPhone build quality is worth while. It's shiny at first, but is it functional? Can it handle stress? In my experience, the answer is no. There's far too much of a focus on prettying up the iPhone for the window displays just so people can buy it, and it's definitely not up to the task that other phones are up to.
And the customer service is not something to be bragging about. Sure, the customer service for a lot of places suck but the customer service from Apple is not something to brag about.
What exactly are "premium internals"? How about this: http://oneplus.net/ It's the exact same price as the iPhone Plus, and it's got a hefty bang for your buck.
I would give you names of phones that are great replacements for the iPhone, but I'm not as big of a fan nor really up to date about what's going on with Android considering I hate the ridiculous prices of cell phones.
I want to switch to a galaxy but I have an awesome unlimited data/tezting plan for cheap from the original iphone and if I switched phones I'd lose it.
I'm not saying Androids are invincible and always amazing, but again, that's why you shop and don't just default to buying the iPhone. Well, you can - I'm not going to stop you or call you an idiot for it, but with the huge library of Android phones, there's a good chance an Android will fit your needs with more features for a comparable price.

lmao
do you understand how contracts work? you pay more for the phone over 2 years. prepaid that phone isn't much cheaper than the iphone 6, which could also be obtained on a similar contract. the G3 is a good phone, but its problems are more than comparable to the apparent bending problem the 6+ has

no, it doesn't. it happens about as much as it does with the 5 which was very little, even though people made a big deal of that too

i can tell you right now that in the hand, the oneplus one is nowhere near as 'premium' feeling as the iPhone 6 or 5s (though is still an excellent phone, i own one). and you need an invite to buy that phone so it's irrelevant; OnePlus are an incredible rarity in the smartphone industry, selling near the BOM.
these personal anecdotes on experiences with android phones vs. iphones are pointless. lots of iphones and android phones alike serve people perfectly and people will stick with either because they've gotten used to them over time, not because they're 'drones' or whatever idiotic term people will use to antagonize customers of the companies they don't like. the attitude that you have to pick a side is toxic to the industry as a whole and anyone who takes part and encourages it is a bit sad. and the customer support definitely is something to brag about. Google rivals them though. but samsung, HTC etc. don't provide the same kind of support that they do at all. especially in the software updates department
