This show is awesome.
I love Penn & Teller so much.
I have seen these and also other few good ones.Nether the less awesome.
Second guy seems like someone you'd hang out with. Seems pretty friendly.
Both remind me of Derren Brown tricks.
the canned laughter and applause makes me cringe
I thought this one was brilliant [media]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSJDS0eFpiU[/media]
You had to choose 2 of the least exciting acts in the whole show.
Bich had the theme from House playing.
I don't get the magic part of the 2nd one. What did he do exactly?
Here's a trick from Penn & Teller themselves [media]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dus0GQuzjuI[/media]
I crave for more.
What's even better is on one of Penn's video blogs he talks about the first two guys who won on this show (I know one was that guy in the second video in the OP). Now obviously their prize was to go to vegas. But Penn said they had trouble getting the guys to pick a date because they were being booked all over thanks to the show. Penn said that made him really happy. Eventually they did get to vegas and they "killed" the American audience and Penn loved it
Well, the first guy pretty much busted his own illusion because he said he didn't write it.
But where'd the lighter fluid come from?
Trying to figure out the first one. It wouldn't have worked if Penn & Teller didn't have to participate. The suitcase and games were all misdirection so he could write down the stuff. There was some big misdirection that allowed him to put the note in his shoe, but the question is how he put it in his shoe. I think his shoe has a place to sneak it in from a place that wouldn't be suspected and he did it at the prime time of misdirection which likely isn't on camera, though if you were to see it in purpose you likely wouldn't see it either. He gets John to agree that the shoe is by inspecting the parts you would, and this eliminates in the viewer's mind that there was something with the shoe. I can't prove this, yet I think it's obvious that he just came up with a new way to do this trick that would fool magicians because they'd assume he'd take the easy route. Still a good trick though.
This weeks one was fantastic, even though I think West was totally lying.
[QUOTE=MasterG;31174302]It was used for Assassin's Creed trailers before that.[/QUOTE] Nah, House came first. And it's Teardrop by Massive Attack, their one song that keeps getting used on TV :v: I love that show, that and Derren Brown's stuff boggle my mind, the tricks people pull...
[QUOTE=ZpankR;31172996]I thought this one was brilliant [media]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSJDS0eFpiU[/media][/QUOTE] I think the white cards had black lines on them, different patterns which can make words if put together. So when he was messing with he he spelled out the card with it. How he did it so fast tho? I have no idea
Does anyone have a clue on how Bich did this trick? I'd be willing to say that the cards can be manipulated to say anything, there was no forcing going on. A friend of mine suggested that he just manipulated the deck in the correct order, turning the trick into nothing more than maths.

He has magnificent sleight of hand and has practiced this trick ALOT. It's what magic tricks come down to. Practice. The good tricks at least. I should know. I am an amateur magician myself.

The link below shows the card setup. I didn't want to image tag it because some people may not want to know or figure it out on their own. http://filesmelt.com/dl/CARDS.png He has spades, clubs, hearts, diamonds, and of already spelled out. Then all he has to do is spell out the face value. I went through and he'd need 22 cards to spell any face value. On the picture I forgot 'c'. How does he get so many blank cards? He just flips over the lettered cards. Most of the trick is arranging and flipping. It's done very well, and it is really clever. I'm not at all sure of the exact order, but it would be something like that and he just had the places memorized and can do some sleight of hand to flip the needed groups and letters. I would suggest there is a bit of mental trick to get the person to pick an easier face value to spell out. I'm pretty sure of this because he uses a common trick to avoid the person from calling seven, eight, or queen. He could do any of those, but just with more moves, and the less moves done makes the trick so much more impressive.[/sp]
