City Shoot with model - General

Hey all, I recently did a shoot with one of my friends in the city for a school assignment, only one of them really fulfilled the assignment. although I thought that the rest turned out ok, I'd like to hear what you guys think! You already posted these in the Creative Photography thread a while ago. Please try to keep your content in there. If you want more feedback, try other forums :)

I read the "rules" thread and it said that having threads for shoots that you do are encouraged. i also didn't really recieve much feedback and I think that these have more impact as a set than as individual photos :smile:

I'm saying you're in the green for starting a thread like this. It's more of a gallery that showcases your work, than the place for feedback/discussion like the creative thread is. That's the difference that The Salmon didn't see.

The moving?/out of focus? hand is quite distracting in the first shot, maybe could have brought the drink into focus as well. Besides that they are excellent! Number 2 being my favourite.

The reason we made the creative thread was to consolidate the overage of "I took this 1 picture look plz" threads that kept popping up. If you have a set of images you want to show off AND get feedback for, by all means a new thread is fine. There's still kind of an invisible fence of where having one picture is OK, but it better be something you want to present rather than an iphone picture you don't care much for but want thoughts on anyways. That's where the creative thread comes in handy. Should we make a general discussion thread so we have all the banter moved to there and leave creative thread specifically to posting stuff?

cheers guys! with the first image, I agree that closing my aperture a tiny bit and bringing her left hand into focus would probably be an improvement, however I like the drink being out f focus. By being out of focus it helps demonstrate that the drink isn't the primary element and can initially be ignored. I used a Sigma 30mm f/1.4 for all of these, with a Canon 550D (incase anyone cares:v:) I would also love to work with her again and try out some other stuff, just nice portraits such as what you're recommending Abdor!

If I got a penny each time someone spelled my nick that way, I could probably get a Snickers or something. Anyway, try studio!
