• RNC Chairman Reince Priebus: "Of course the party doesn't favor the rich"

[release]The chairman of the Republican National Committee says that it is simply “not true” that his party takes the side of the wealthiest Americans over the poor and middle class. CNN’s Candy Crowley asked RNC Chairman Reince Priebus Sunday about a recent New York Times poll (PDF) which found that 69 percent of Americans believe Republicans in Congress favored the rich. Only 9 percent thought their policies favored the middle class and even less, 2 percent, thought congressional Republicans supported the poor. “Certainly it’s not true,” Priebus argued. “And I think that it’s a red herring, and I think that the president is doing a full time job of trying to play the game of class warfare.” “It’s clearly working,” Crowley asserted. “Of course the party doesn’t favor the rich,” Priebus insisted. “But what the party does favor is reducing taxes on every single American out there, everyone watching. We favor reducing taxes and making sure that Washington is focused in on job creation, on cutting spending, on reducing the size of government.” “As long as you have Republicans, many of them up there saying, ‘We need to make structural changes in Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security — and that would include cuts for some people and for providers in Medicare, as well as for patients in Medicare — and by the way, we don’t want to — we want to lower taxes for everybody, including the rich,’ that is not a perception,” Crowley noted. “That’s a fact.” “Well, because there’s other ways of gaining more revenue, of course,” Priebus replied. “If you reduce capital gains, more people invest and we’ve seen revenues increase.”[/release] Source: http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2011/11/13/rnc-chair-of-course-the-party-doesnt-favor-the-rich/

They say one thing and do the opposite.
Liar liar party on fire.
They say one thing and do the opposite.
The cunning game that is politics.
When asked whether or not "Reince Priebus" was a stage name pulled from Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job, "Reince Priebus" declined to comment. [editline]15th November 2011[/editline] He is currently living with his two sons, Dringus and Drungle Priebus.
Wrong indicator OP. Should have been Humor.
The so-called "class warfare" was began by the rich, way back when during the Reagan presidency. This is just a gentle push to the wealthy compared to all the shoving that's been done to the bottom 90% of the nation. "Let's lower taxes for the rich! High debt? Just steal it from the social security fund, I'm sure nobody will notice. What's that? Environmental spending? Lunches for schoolchildren? Housing for poor people? Fuck 'em! Spend that money on fighting COMMIES."
We don't need them to lower taxes for everyone. Just raise the tax for the rich...
I'm getting sick of this "class warfare" and "job creators" bullshit. They're trying to convince the poorer classes that they are just as equal and have just as much opportunity as the rich, which is obvious bullshit. I can't remember the exact quote or who said it but it was something along the lines of
The reason why america has never had a second civil war is because no americans see themselves as poor, they only see themselves as currently disadvantaged millionaires - Not a direct quote
I'm pretty sure it was said around the time of the industrial revolution, still holds true though.
Oh sure, this isn't biased or anything WHAT A WONDERFUL SOURCE OF INFO! HEY EVeryone.....
Republicans these days...
"Reince Priebus" sounds like some antagonist from a Roman/Grecian drama. Good thing he got the antagonist part correct.
Why is anyone surprised? Lying is a cornerstone of the entire Republican institution. Their entire philosophy is built around saying one thing and doing another. Pre election: "Jobs, jobs, jobs!" Post election: "Ban abortions! Cut student loans! Deregulation! Tax cuts for rich people!"
How to know how a Republican truly thinks: 1. Listen to what they say, like what Rinse Perineum just spouted. 2. Assume the exact opposite.

God I realize all politicians lie, are corrupt, etc., but the Republicans are really deserving of the extra flak they get.

We had a guy from the National Refrigeration Association (or something along those lines) come down here to certify the HVAC program at our community college, and he told us about how he worked to get back to school and blah-blah-blah but in reality (and he TOLD us this) it was friends of his in high places that just liked him and said "Go back to school, Tom, we'll pay for everything!". I agree with my great-grandmother when she says "Might as well just put them all in a big sack and shake it, and whoever falls out first is president".
Everybody knows it. The Democrats do the same thing.
