This Greg Pabich guy has multiple factory sealed copies of Action 52 which can go sell for prices upward of about $300-$400 each. Now on top of that he also owns several original production cartridges of Cheetahmen 2 which can go for just under a $1,000 and not to mention all the different pirated cartridges of the game he owns. This guy is not hard off at all, and it looks like he'll live comfortably until the day he dies.
He also lives in a fucking cheetah mansion and has a cheetahmen shrine or some shit.
Don't shit on James as I highly doubt he even knew the financial situation of the guy in charge of all this.
Awesome, but pointless idea
I doubt it'll get the funding required but it's still a hilarious and cool venture. Most people are gonna want to just get a fixed rom of it.
Or someone could ROM hack it.
Well that was the least to-the-point kickstarter video in existance.
$65,000 just to fix a single bug?
And you only even get the game if you pledge $60, the game won't even be valuable seeing as reproduction cartridges aren't even worth a dime to collectors.
Besides, the hacked rom which fixes the glitch has been available on the internet for years now.
From what I'm reading about this, apparently it is a huge scam, the guys doing it supposedly have a ton of money already. And at $65 000 for the kickstarter, I'm not surprised that this is actually being frowned upon.
Report this scam.

Jesus fuck that guy just has a ton of shit in his house.
His house looks like an average room in the Butterfield Hotel.
Really shocking to see James do something like this, supporting a scammer and pretty much telling his loyal fans to go give money to a scammer. He always seemed like a nice guy to me and well this ruined his reputation imo.

I bet he gave james a bunch of bucks to do it, money sells these days and jesus that guy is that rich? I thought he was doing it cause he's poor but this just turns the table.

i'll take 20
James has really lost a lot of hair.

And a lot of self-respect too. Seriously, what have you become James? You're trying to stoop lower than Bores?

It's more like $65,000 to publish the game.
Publishing games is really expensive.

Repro carts are done through supply and demand. So each cart will only be manufactured for the person you pledges atleast $60 for it. They make money this way too because each cart would cost less than $60 to produce along with the people who pledge less and receive pretty much nothing.
Maybe James just didn't realise the guy was a scammer. Facepunch is kind of quick to go RUINED FOREVER YOU WORTHLESS SELLOUT.
Yknow, It would be cool if this was a remastered version, and not just a bug fix.
I don't hate James for it, I just want to know what drove him to do it.
The idea is fucking retarded though. There's already a bug-fix out, the reproduction market is tiny, the amount of work for the 'idea' is less than a few weeks by ONE dedicated guy.
That 65k in the hands of an actual, good, but small developer could go untold fucking leagues. :v:

James mentions in his video on how he makes nerd episodes that he doesn't like the idea of emulators, or emulating games. Uses sterotypes like being hunched over the keyboard, with your face an inch from the screen, etc. I'm not a mind reader, but I could guess he believes it's more 'legit' if it's a physical cart rather than a file on a computer.

He must surely know that, then, with the right equipment - he could just make his own cart of the bug-fixed version that's already out?
The $65,000 for this, from people who are already loaded though - it just kills me.
They fucked up with games not once. Why they think people will trust this time? Just because they collected all NES stars into their video?
That's bullshit.
I hope this doesn't go anywhere.
Why is everyone getting mad at James for? I mean sure it's a bad move on his part to put this shit on his channel, but why is everyone going "nope ruined forever james sucks" over a mistake? You people seriously lost all respect for him JUST for this?
It's already at 26k with 28 days left, I wouldn't doubt that this is going to reach it's goal.

A lot of people are quick to shit on James for one reason or another. It's sad, the guy is honestly a hard worker and very honest yet still gets flak over shit like this. I am as clueless as he was/is.
