Damn that ending.
Also I hope they really put in some sort of AA to fix those godawful jaggies.
God does it look scary.
I really like the art style though

Enabling AA in streams or YouTube videos are generally bad practice because of compression.
The spaceship flinging around in space looks really cool.
Looks awesome. Penumbra/Amnesia, but stuck in what looks like a damaged spaceship with an Alien.
Sounds and looks great. I hope they nail it, Alien deserves a proper game.
Jesus fuck, the ending legitimately scared me.
I have high hopes for this game.

Fuck, I found myself nearly clambering to distance myself from the screen when it charged. Son of a bitch, they established legitimate fear in a matter of seconds... during a behind-the-scenes advertisement.
I'm actually really surprised how effective seeing the silhouette of the alien was. Seeing the shape slink into view like that is strangely terrifying, knowing you're so close and exposed.
And man, that howling wind sound from the original movie... that noise is what I think of when I remember the film.
Though the fact that you can HIDE from the Xeno is worthy of questioning... just how do they see things? They don't have eyes, which is part of what makes their design so frightening and obfuscates any sense of humanity. Puts doubt into the victim whether it's looking their way or not.
I always figured that long, phallic melon had some kind of ultrasonic or thermal sensory that allowed it the ease with which it finds and stalks victims. I always got the impression that you COULDN'T hide from it. It ALWAYS would see you before you saw IT, and ALWAYS knew where you were... it was just patient, waiting for the maximally opportune ambush spot...
i always thought their huge elongated skull was for advanced mental capacity in hunting and general skulkery, and they saw in vibrations like daredevil

From what I can find, it seems like the prop from the actual movie answers that question:

I think Music has to be turned off completely for full horror experience.
Sound in an Alien game? I demand the waaaaaaa sound.

on the flip side, the music needs to be one of the largest parts of the game for a full Alien experience
The real reasons the Alien from Alien has an elongated skull is because it was designed by HR Giger, and I don't think Giger has done anything which doesn't have blatant sexual imagery.

For cinematic experience perhaps, but for me, music usually ruins the horror.

I think it's technically non-canon (for all canon is worth in the Alien series), but in the book of the film, there's a scene where the Alien is transfixed by a slowly moving light. And it's sort of curious toward it as it follows the bulb with its elongated head.
Recent films have just shown it as being able to detect most things without any explanation though.

This is kinda what I assume.
Seems like they are doing what Rockstar did with RDR. Music and noises are chosen based on what you are doing
yeah, i'm unsure of just how they'll handwave the PC being able to evade the Alien by line of sight
perhaps in the beginning there'll be some sort of planned trap that fails to kill it, but does blind it, allowing you to escape at first and forcing it to hunt you by scent and sound

Having the Alien change in appearance as the story goes on would be pretty rad. You know, like Batman in the Arkham games. Except this time, he's trying to kill you.
And this is why i study audiodesign. Awesome

Aren't Xenomorphs partially based on the DNA of their host creatures? In which case, it makes (weird, Lamarckian) sense that an Alien's skull might have human eye sockets if their host when developing was a human, in the same way that Predaliens had the mandibles.

Mind telling me all about this audio design stuff? It's relevant to my interests.
