For me as a film maker, I dont want my content 'enhanced' i can do that myself. But I do like the "using bandwidth more efficiently."

Unless by 'enhance' they mean higher bitrates, ala Vimeo.
Hey Google, if you really want to improve Youtube tell all the companies shitting all over peoples videos to fuck off.
Anything they add will be optional most likely.

Not in this world
Instead of improving picture quality, maybe they should try fixing the quality of their uploaders

Mandatory IQ test when posting a comment or uploading a video??

Brilliant idea
Also, add a system that auto-deletes "remixes" that consist of nothing but a 2x speed of the original song

Add a system that kills RWJ
Aw, I was hoping it would be a real parrot
As soon as I saw the headline, I was wracking my brain for a few seconds to visualize just what in the hell Google would need a parrot for... I mostly pictured a parrot hanging out in their offices doing nothing. v:v:v
Now blog videos will have camera shake! So real! I'll feel like I'm there.

The system is meant to ELIMINATE camera shake.
So you can watch those crappy cellphone recorded films without feeling seasick.
Now I can watch great original content such as this:

In higher quality!

Word, I avoid uploading my productions to YouTube cause it's just fucking up all the hours I've spend editing my masterpiece.
Thank fucking god... can't wait for 60 fps videos and bit rates that start out good only to end up like shit.
And being able to upload longer than just 10-15 mins would be nice too.
Wow misleading title I came in here expecting birds
I'm looking forward to this.
I wish Youtube fixed their obsession with putting VLoggers up top in every area.
This is pretty great. All YouTube needs now is an option to disable adverts on a video, its the most annoying thing.

No, they need this (properly and not as a joke this time)

You can upload more than 15 mins if you have a clean record and have been a member for so long. A couple of weeks ago it popped up and was like "You may now upload videos longer than 15 mins!". I think there's still a low limit on the size though.

I have a copyright blackmark and I can upload stuff longer than 15 minutes. Kinda broken system, imho.

Ah, maybe its just time you have been a member. Information about it on the internet seems to be a bit sketchy.

choo choo* motherfuckers
It feels like if Google ever wanted to make a game using something like the source engine, they'd just buy Valve instead of buying the license.
Aw, I was hoping it would be a real parrot
Go on.... fix YouTube..... *poke*
I thought they bought an actual parrot.
Google has bought Irish company Green Parrot Pictures in a bid to improve the quality of video uploaded to YouTube.
This is interesting though.

I am undecided how about if it's a good thing or not (the way Google just buy companies if they want to use their products).
I mean on the surface it seems like a good idea, but surely along the line there are people losing their jobs, or does google just hire everyone?
Fuck BBC and there misleading titles.
It'd better be damn optional. I spend many hours making my videos look good manually. I don't need youtube's "fantastic" automatic enhancement software doing it's job on my products. An example is their atrocious auto-transcription service. 1) It's terrible 2) It nearly never actually works. It will fail before my videos are even uploaded. I simply would like maybe control over these features.
We have a video editor on the site, why can't we get a toolkit for shake reduction, sharpening, color correction, etc and even with the transcription, I'd like to be able to edit them in youtube in some sort of designed application, instead of playing my own video back in vegas at like 40% speed and typing it out badly in notepad.

Don't watch their content?
I wish Youtube fixed their obsession with putting VLoggers up top in every area.
It's not that youtube is directly putting bloggers up top, it's that youtube designs their front pages to keep the viral-ness of videos going. The big time vloggers tend to have such an incredibly massive following that it'd be unfair for youtube to basically not let vloggers get the top spots.
It's partially YT's fault for streamlining their front page and browse so much to the point where only the views are shown, not rating, comments, favourites, responses, etc.
