Well I wrote this after driving home from work one day. I guess it is inspired by Alan Wake and Stephen King. I'm terrible at writing so let me have it, also the link below I've graced you with my terrible audio-book-paragraph-thing, shaky voice and background noise included, free of charge! Enjoy!
The alarm sounded. It seemed to fill the room with white light, it centered me brought me back to the place that to me was the unreachable reality. But this time the alarm was different, it was wrong, the alarm had sounded too late. The alarm seemed weak like it was trembling, struggling to resist the force, the terrible power that had gotten into the room, the white light faded and shimmered with the volume of the klaxon. It cast shadows across the room as it did, shadows of things not there, as the light feigned the shadows grew and strengthened, joining and swirling together like dye in water or shadows in the sea. Each time the light receded the shadow was able to come closer, from up close the shadows took on a grizzly presence staring into the depths of the shadows they revealed their true nature, it writhed. Like millions of worms in a mucus coating, like snakes fighting amongst themselves the masses churned and moved closer still it hungered. Like a child running to avoid the waves on a sandy shore I ran, I retreated to the only source of safety in the room, the alarm. The alarm made a noise, unnatural - the pitch changed it sank and rose like it's volume had been doing moments before, then it stopped. And I was plunged into the darkness.
You should totally tell me what you think as well, bad or good.
Pretty good, a nice short read. Also you need a comma between me and brought on the first line.
I'm not much of a reviewer or professional story reader like most of fp but I liked the story.
