I live 30 minutes away from Washington. We were pelted with strong winds and heavy rain. Pretty interesting seeing what it's like inside a tornado.
Wow... the crying...
I live in the Chicago area and even then it was really bad. That is terrifying as fuck.
It really sucks having your house being boned by nature. We live next to the Mississippi River in North Dakota. One year the river started to rise rapidly, just seeing the river get closer every day until it covers the entire area, is depressing. His wife crying, the air raid sirens, and the destruction is just so surreal. [editline]22nd November 2013[/editline] The comment section is a fucking shithole, my god.
Holy moly! Jesus, that guy has it together. He's just like "our frickin house is destroyed god damn FFUCK". He's relatively calm for someone whose house was just shredded.

That's surreal. He sees the tornado, walks down, walks back up and everything is just gone.
Awwww helllll yes it looks like the flatscreen TV is ok. [editline]22nd November 2013[/editline] In all seriousness though, holy fuck.
Pretty sure that's his daughter, but I agree with you.
they're one and the same actually
this reminds me of that video where the town residents got into the local diner's freezer, the video is pitch black, you can hear the wind and everyone losing it.

These people in the video lost all their home, car, and no doubly anything else they owned and yet some of the people on YouTube are criticizing them for crying and building in a tornado risk area.
This is like the scariest thing I've ever seen. Jesus christ

Now I found out she's just a child so I feel bad for what I said and feel bad for her. Reply · gagnerocksmysox3 minutes ago Well we can still blame the Dad. He froze a couple times and almost got killed. He should have guided his daughter out too.

Spagheleton49 minutes ago Chill, bitch. That shit would be badass to experience. As long as you have homeowner's insurance.•

Effie Chatzinikola5 minutes ago Stop building wooden houses, maybe then you wouldn't have to deal with all these. Instead of being weak she could have been helping those in need around her. In times of chaos there is not time to think about one's self.•

sbowesuk2 hours ago Hate to be blunt, but Josie needs to get a fucking grip. Yeah it sucks to lose stuff, but it's just stuff. In the grand scheme of things, it doesn't matter. What matters is your health and wellbeing, so when your husband tells you to move because the house could collapse at second, you fucking do it! Whimpering like a hysterical 5 year old only make a bad situation worse. Sorry but crap like that pisses me off.•
people are fucking stupid, it's youtube, do you really expect anything less than garbage?

-Apparently people get moody when you say this-
You can afford a massive house but you can't afford a camera that can adjust to low indoor light? What's wrong with you??
how is that house "massive" at all
People don't seem to understand there is a thing called "being in shock" after a huge event like this happens in such a short amount of time. Sure there are people who are going to able to shake it off, but those people are a minority and they're more likely to care for themselves and their families before their neighbors. And there has been plenty of cases of tornadoes destroying structures made of metal and brick. Example:
-snops-
You can afford a massive house but you can't afford a camera that can adjust to low indoor light?
Congrats, that post was just as bad as the actual comments on the youtube video! You should get a prize or something.
It's got a second floor.
have you like never been in the country or something that's a standard sized house for the area
You can afford a massive house but you can't afford a camera that can adjust to low indoor light? That was literally 20 seconds of action followed by a minute of black and then people crying because they lost everything.
tornado coming better get 50,000 dollar red camera to capture the moment

that's just horrible. got my eyes all running now, that was just so surreal [editline]22nd November 2013[/editline] really feeling that in the chest, feeling really sad on their behalf
also the reason the comments in the video are shit is because it's on the front page of reddit
Aftermath is god damn scary

[editline]22nd November 2013[/editline] The comment section is a fucking shithole, my god.

Its funny how American get sad when they house just gets destroyed but they feel no guilt in supporting the Jews who are regularly destroying Palestinians homes to build homes for the Jewish people. They feel very proud when American soliders come back from war, completely oblivious to the mass civilians killing they left at their wake. How would Americans react if drones loaded with missiles fly over there head all the day night? It's happening in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Yet this idiot American and the video get shit load of emotional response and support for a home to get partially destroyed. •
I don't even get how someone could be so disconnected from the world that they would actually think like this. The "my tragedy is more important than your tragedy" attitude really needs to go.
You know going through the tornado is bad and you expect everything is going to be destoryed but hey, half of his house is still there and HIS TV SURVIVED! Its not much but id call that, not too shabby for going through a tornado.
I think it's more impressive that they themselves survived, they really should have evacuated
Trying to outrun a tornado is far more dangerous than staying put. Tornadoes are unpredictable, so 1) there really is no place to logically evacuate to as it could hit anywhere and 2) by the time you've realized a tornado is hitting your immediate area it's too late to try to leave. It's also not surprising they survived, these storms are destructive but tend to luckily have relatively low casualty rates. Seeking shelter in the basement was absolutely the right thing to do and it works.
