I was waching a documentry on national geographic channel..about how the world will end in either, nukes, mega volcano, asteroid, or gamma ray burst, and the whole time I was thinkin' idiot's it's called freakin' space COLINIZATION if people would stop worrying about which celebrity was in rehab we would already be in the stars...I fucking hate people sometime's.
we sit here and pour billions of dollars a year into our personal entertainment, movies, games,toys, clubs, partys, alchohol, weed, cigars, cigarettes, drugs, war, music, TV, ETC. the list goes on and on it's our fault that we are so behind in our evolution of technologie. if we didn't have those things we would have been on the moon by now living there and at the rate we are going we will fuck ourselves up before we ever have the chance to go to space, whether it be a nuke or some global disaster we have the resoucoures now but we don't have the willingness and that is our own fault

I never said we need to go to space now...we just need to put a little more effort into it if you see what we did in the 50's and 60's we made HUGE technological leaps in those 20 years because we wanted to..if we could do that then, imagine what we could do now...

We need to make space exploration viable and efficient. Until we have the right technology it doesn't make sense to do anything.

Pouring money into things does not make things improve faster. If the government decided to spend half it's money on the space agency, work would go a little faster, but the entire economy would collapse within days.
besides, we'll be able to live on this planet for a while, we should be able to keep it habitable far after we become a space-faring species
I think it's more important to help our economy NOW rather than pour all our country's money into space programs right now. It's not critical yet to develop such tech and besides, if everyone is dead then it doesn't matter right?
If the dark ages hadn't happened I'm willing to say that we would have had space travel as early as the 1800's.

Well, don't you think Space Colonization is quite difficult to manage, furthermore we lack the proper technology and funding to even create a moonbase. Still space travel will be further developped, hopefully I can see a space colony in my life. Would be fucking awesome.

humanity is its own biggest enemy. We slow ourselves down, we are greedy, we don't think to the future, and we overall are destroying ourselves (this is a generalization of humanity as a whole). We could be in space right now, colonizing other planets, moons, etc, but because of the many wars, we end with better technology to kill with than to survive with.
Now, i know a lot of christfags are going to hate me for this, but religion, specifically all of christianity, is responsible for many wars and the slowing of humanity. Religion was made all important up until recently, and because of it people were focusing on religion and not moving forward with technology.
