the deer hunter
Love em all.
Platoon
Hamburger Hill
Tigerland
The Deer Hunter
Full Metal Jacket
We Were Soldiers
Good Morning Vietnam
I don't really consider Apocalypse Now to truly be a Vietnam War film but I do consider it to be my all time favorite film.
I've yet to see Born on the Fourth of July, thanks for the reminder!
We Were Soldiers was pretty good
Favorite has to be Apocalypse now and Full Metal Jacket (mainly because of R Lee Ermy and Ride of the Valkyries... which probably accounts to why 75% of people nowadays watch the two films)
Tropic Thunder.
the horror, the horror, the horror
the green berets!
oh wait.
Rambo 2
full metal jacket
Hamburger Hill was fucking brilliant. Don't forget The Green Berets.
Platoon is still the best and most realistic (in terms of their movement, etc)
We were soldiers is pretty good, bit too patriotic mel gibson shit for my liking though. But it's nice to see a movie portray a part of vietnam that isn't all fucking jungle.
Full metal jacket is badass.
Apocalypse now: redux is easily one of my favorite films of all time, but I don't classify it as a "vietnam" film, it's more like an LSD trip set in the vietnam war.
Tigerland is.. alright.
One I bet none of you have even heard of is The Odd Angry shot, which is an Australian film focusing on an Australian SAS patrol in Vietnam. It's pretty fucking good actually, and very realistic in terms of their infantry technique. Overall there's no big plot arc to the movie, it's just cuts from the patrol on various combat missions (patrolling, ambushing, search and destroy etc) and them back back at base getting drunk and discussing the war and the public perception etc.
The Deer Hunter or Platoon.
That scene from Airplane!
Tropic Thunder.
It's not a Vietnam movie, it's a movie about guys who make a Vietnam movie
It's not a Vietnam movie, it's a movie about guys who make a Vietnam movie
It's about a dude playing a dude who's playing a dude that's making a Vietnam movie, and then some other guys.
It's not a Vietnam movie, it's a movie about guys who make a Vietnam movie
In Vietnam.
It doesn't take place during the Vietnam War so it's not a Vietnam War movie. Just a Vietnam movie.
No, actually it's a Vietnam War movie movie because they're trying to make a Vietnam War movie in the movie.
Platoon is the best one I have seen, and boy is it epic in my opinion.
Its a Vietnam movie movie.
Don't forget The Green Berets.

Forrest Gump.
Don't really consider it a 'Nam movie since there's only a small part of it in vietnam.
Lt. Dan is one of the best war characters ever though
Full Metal Jacket
"If God wanted you up there, he would have miracled your ass up there!"
"Are you quitting on me? Well, are you? Then quit, you slimy fucking walrus-looking piece of shit! Get the fuck off of my obstacle! Get the fuck down off of my obstacle! NOW! MOVE IT! Or I'm going to rip your balls off, so you cannot contaminate the rest of the world! I will motivate you, Private Pyle, IF IT SHORT-DICKS EVERY CANNIBAL ON THE CONGO! "

It includes John Wayne:
:hellyeah:
Overall, I'd have to say Full Metal Jacket was probably my favorite.
Special mention goes to the war story from Forrest Gump.
