President Obama calls Sandra Fluke, target of Rush Limbaugh's misogynist rant, to offer his support
Sandra Fluke, the Georgetown Law Student savagely attacked by Rush Limbaugh for defending the right of all women to have access to birth control, just revealed on MSNBC that President Obama had telephoned her to offer his thanks and support."He encouraged me and supported me and thanked me for speaking out about the concerns of American women," Fluke said. "What was really personal to me was he said to tell my parents that should be proud, and that meant a lot because Rush Limbaugh questioned whether or not my family would be proud of me, so I just appreciated that very much."As Andrea Mitchell noted, President Obama's call raises the stakes. On one side you have Rush Limbaugh calling Fluke unspeakably ugly things. On the other side you have President Obama supporting and embracing her, and holding Fluke up as a role model. Republicans are going to need to take a side. Defend Rush's disgusting diatribe ... or support Fluke.Fluke said President Obama called her while she was in the green room at MSNBC. "He did express his concern for me, and wanted to make sure I was okay," Fluke said. "I am. I'm okay."
You're a-okay, Obama.
What a cool dude. Rush Limbaugh on the other hand, needs to die slowly in a fire.
seriously it's like the GOP and it's supporters WANT Obama to get reelected.
everyone knows Obama is a bro
The republicans try to demonize Obama and his policies, but in the end all they are doing is giving him more strength to get back into office. Which is why the rush mindset doesn't work and only complete idiots would want to think like him.
meanwhile Obama is about to let Ben Bernanke bailout most of Europe
"So...what are you wearing?"
Every time I see one of these articles I keep thinking what had happened to cause the Republicans to become so stupid, was there some sort of power shift in the 60's or so where all the smart Republicans were kidnapped and replaced with the dumber ones?

Eisenhower was arguably the last great Republican, left Office with high ratings, sound economic policies for the time. But mention the Military Industrial Complex, and you get forgotten...
I am unsettled by some Republicans, primarily because they spout such stupid, bigoted shit. One could argue that Rush so viciously attacked Fluke (and does all the other stuff he does, for that matter) "because it was the way he was raised, his mindset, etcetera" but I kind of think that there has to be a line in the sand between 'mindset' and 'insanity.'
I really do not understand how they can be so vehement about their ideals, and well... intolerant of so much else.

I find it hilarious and not surprising at all that Glaber disagreed with this post.
The Republican party needs to become a lot more moderate and progressive in order to have any hope of regaining power once the extremely liberal Internet Generation hits voting age en masse. Not much hope for them otherwise.

I just read that in his voice.
... Thanks babe.
Obama really is a genuinely kind man, I still don't get why the republicans try to make him out to be some sort've anti-christ.
Love it when Obama says he doesn't give a fuck what people think and does things like this. It's awesome.
