[img_thumb] http://filesmelt.com/dl/KODIIcondensed3.jpg[/img_thumb] To those that dwell the Screenshots section often, you guys may have seen this. Anyways, I want to ask the rest of Facepunch if they even use Garry's Mod as a tool that can be utilized outside the computer. So far, I started to utilize this game to make ad posters for my friend's school club and right now I've been trying to help design t-shirts with the models I've downloaded and with a huge help from GIMP 2.0. I have also come to use Garry's Mod a part in my school projects whenever they call for posters or pictures and if I can find similar models, I use them. Well, it just so happened that in my English Class, we're doing something that involves The Canterbury Tales. After memorizing the introduction (got an A) we can start working on our Character Project. Our teacher is very lenient on how we do this project and we could do it in many ways, ranging from an essay to a film poster or make a bunch of trading cards describing the characters. I chose the film poster and I made it, and printed it from the screenshot. [img_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/Gmod_Project1.jpg[/img_thumb] Now this is the first time I solely used Garry's Mod for an entire class project, did anyone here did so before I did and get a good grade? And I'm presenting this to the class by the way And how is the poem?
I've seen a decent amount of really shitty videos made in garrysmod submitted for projects. I don't know what they got gradewise, but their videos were always god awful.
I had to make a cafeteria for some french final exam. Yeah, don't ask. I made it in Gmod and my group was impressed. What a fucking waste of time.

It's a bad idea and you should be ashamed.

I've done a short video for a school project before, which required me to advertise a fictional product. It was very unoriginal (obvious rip-off of Powerthirst), but my teacher loved it anyway.
It's great except you're using other people's assets on an engine you didn't make for a mod you didn't help with.
I used it for a project once. Not screenshots, though - we had to make an "exhibit" on something 1920's-related, so I made a shooting range with period guns - the Thompson, the Springfield, the Colt .45, etc. Just shooting boxes and metal plates, not people, of course. Got an A.
It's quality!

It's just the medium you are using to express yourself in the project.
You can't expect quality machinma out of 12 year olds' with fraps
no i mean this was like taking any "random" video made by kitty0706, removing the little amount of funny it has, then having it presented by some pompous little shit who is parading it around like he's a film prodigy. Also op, very nice work on that poster.
It looks good. It's hard to tell it was even made on gmod with the nicely done effects. Good work.
I did one way back about not doing drugs, did it in cs_office, it totally owned.

I considered it a few times, but in the end it just doesn't wind up being very feasible nor do I have a quality recording program to record with.
I've used it for a project for English in which we had to build a society/city. My group ended up making a space station, in which all citizens were basically drones and the elected official was just a clone that a group of five ultimately controlled to due their bidding. My poses sucked, but the space ship I built was decent.

Using someone elses models materials and hours of work and claiming it as your own is just being a lazy whore, it doesn't matter if nobody holds a lawsuit against you, you've still done jack shit.
I made a very quickly done video on weather for french class, and used a bunch of weather mods and people were super impressed. I got an A on it even though it was half-assed. A guy asked if I hacked my xbox to film the video. Oh god.
Also, I need to see this.
It was a bunch of voice overs on stills, back around 06-07. It's gone, never uploaded it used male_07 and the generic black guy, giant pill bottles were "the drugs"

I used halo for a school project once, it was just an excuse to play games in class. The end result was fucking terrible, and yet we got a B+.
The hell, we did the same project.
Used it for my Rube Goldberg project.
Good way to show off your nerd. Don't. WOW WHY DID YOU PUT FACEPUNCH LOGOS ALL OVER YOUR SCHOOL WORK YOUR TEACHER MUST THINK YOU'RE DEVOID OF SOCIAL LIFEEEEEE (User was banned for this post ("Trolling" - verynicelady))
I did a really shitty video for english class using it once. Teacher gave me an A though since he thought I used some weird animating program or some shit.
