• Amazon's Ad Slamming The iPad Mini Has A Blatant Lie In It
Amazon is slamming the iPad mini on its front page, doing a side by side comparison of Apple's tablet to the Kindle Fire HD. There's one problem with the comparison, though. Amazon says the iPad mini has mono speakers, while the Kindle Fire HD has stereo speakers. Turns out that's wrong. The Verge's Josh Topolsky said in his review the iPad mini has stereo speakers. And then on Twitter he confirmed it, saying, "People of Earth: Apple confirms iPad mini has STEREO SPEAKERS. As I note in my review." He also said in his review, "And that's a good-sounding set of stereo speakers, by the way." For what it's worth, in his review of the Kindle Fire HD he said the speakers aren't anywhere as great as what Amazon would have you believe, but "they do sound quite nice." Anyway, looks like Amazon has to update this comparison:
SOURCE
Tablet speakers suck either way.
Oh man a company lied to us to try to get us to buy their product instead of a rivals! What will we ever do?
Oh man a company lied to us to try to get us to buy their product instead of a rivals! What will we ever do?
Although to be fair, if this was the reverse, FP would be throwing a massive fit over the lie in the advertising however small it may seem to be.
I dont get how things like this happen. It's not accidental, because you dont make a point out of something you dont know is true, and it's not like nobody would notice.
are we still going to blame apple for this
are we still going to blame apple for this
turns out apple swapped the speakers of every ipad that amazon ever bought with mono speakers, just so they could make them look bad by revealing they used stereo no but seriously, amazon shouldn't make up stuff like this to try to sell their product, that could've been a core selling point for some people only to turn out to be false
Although to be fair, if this was the reverse, FP would be throwing a massive fit over the lie in the advertising however small it may seem to be.
To be fair, I like Google/Android so no I would not. Bias, sure. Does not change the fact that Apple has sued everyone possible while Google for the most part just spent time and energy developing a solid Operating System.
"Dual stereo speakers" As opposed to... mono stereo speakers?
are we still going to blame apple for this
Lets get this out of the way: AMAZON YOU FUCKIN' RETARDS IMMA COMW DOWN AND FUCKING RAPE YOUR WIVES AND HUSBANDS AND CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN FOR THIS YOU SCUM OF THE EARTH DIE PLZ PLZ. Ok, now the hate quota has been filled, by law, we can now blame Apple.
that's fantastic but mono provides better audio quality
I dont get how things like this happen. It's not accidental, because you dont make a point out of something you dont know is true, and it's not like nobody would notice.
The apple website does expressly say that the iPad has stereo speakers, just that it has speakers in the first place. Obviously though if the guy who made this ad used his eyes he would notice that the ipad has two speaker grills.
Although to be fair, if this was the reverse, FP would be throwing a massive fit over the lie in the advertising however small it may seem to be.
Yes, which is because most folks tend to like Amazon because Amazon isn't hell bent on fucking everyone in the ass in every conceivable fashion. Amazon is given the benefit of the doubt because they aren't dicks.
Kindle is still better
Yes, which is because most folks tend to like Amazon because Amazon isn't hell bent on fucking everyone in the ass in every conceivable fashion. On several occasions, Amazon has refunded me money/exchanged a product, helped me with a problem, and just recently, refunded me a purchase, and let me keep the product because I was a valued customer. What Amazon does for its customers is something I don't think I have ever heard Apple do.
Oh man a company lied to us to try to get us to buy their product instead of a rivals! What will we ever do?
Appreciate fact checkers which help reduce the amount of lies in the ever so competitive world markets.
Apple has like the highest customer satisfaction ratings
I'm inclined to disagree due to my own personal experiences, but it is enlightening to see that statistically they have a high customer satisfaction rating.
are we still going to blame apple for this
Well now that you say it...
Dag Nabbit Apple, not making it perfectly clear to your competitors that your iFad Mini has Stereo speakers.

The problem occurs because on Apple's own specs page at http://www.apple.com/ipad-mini/specs/ ... they note under Input/Output: "Built-in speaker" and they've not changed it since I printed that out last week. They do offer external speakers for the mini though. I've not been able to find 'speakerS' on a webpage by them. At http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1475521 there is a diagram that shows one speaker. That diagram is at http://forums.macrumors.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=372126&stc=1&d=1351147019 When someone asks if there is a speaker on the other side, a regular says it doesn't matter since "it's mono for both." At http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1477745 a commenter notes on what they're calling "Speakergate" :-) and says: "Stereo speaker jack as shown Speaker pointer as shown does not say stereo The diagram does not say stereo for the speaker at the bottom. If it were Stereo, it would have been announced, pointed to and raved about by Apple. http://www.techlicious.com/blog/appl...-is-less-more/ 'The specifications may tell a different tale. Both the Nook HD ($199 on barnesandnoble.com) and Kindle Fire HD ($199 on amazon.com) have better resolution displays than the iPad mini: 1440 x 900 pixels and 1280 x 800 pixels respectively. Furthermore, while the Nook HD offers half the storage capacity of the least capacious iPad mini and of the Kindle Fire HD (16 GB), it is expandable via a built-in microSD card slot, while the iPad mini (like all iPads) and the Kindle Fire HD are not. The Kindle Fire HD also features stereo speakers, whereas the iPad mini (like all iPads) has a single speaker.' The thread by iOS focused types includes the thought that Apple would have bragged about it had they put in stereo speakers for once, on a tablet. I would re-confirm with another Apple technician - preferably a senior tech person. But maybe this person has the actual answer: "Technically the iPad 4, as well as all other iPads, have stereo speakers. They have a left and right channel speaker on the inside, but only one external sound baffle." That may be what the Apple rep meant. Also, there are two pages to the discussion and the various theories are pretty interesting. I wouldn't call this an Amazon lie for the reasons above.
Tablet speakers suck either way.
My asus transformer has amazing speakers

I.E scraping together hearsay and personal assumptions and presenting it as "fact" in an argument. Someone at Amazon simply thought they had it right but forgot to run it through Google.

And while they aren't patent trolling, they're doing things like suing small polish grocery stores for having a domain a.pl, because it's a pun on apple, and Apple is trying to claim ownership over the name of a fruit, and their logo, which looks nothing like Apple's. I know the war between Samsung and Apple but i know enough other companies out there who are suing everyone Including Righthaven for like suing Facepunch.com/Garry Newman for having some 'copyright protected images' on LMAO pics.
Oh man a company lied to us to try to get us to buy their product instead of a rivals! What will we ever do?
haha oh wow, it's like you're not even trying to appear credible

I know the war between Samsung and Apple but i know enough other companies out there who are suing everyone Including Righthaven for like suing Facepunch.com/Garry Newman for having some 'copyright protected images' on LMAO pics.
Samsung and Motorola have both engaged in some heavy lawsuits themselves, towards other companies in similar markets (HTC being a major target). Everyone seems to praise Samsung for stepping up against Apple, but let's not forget Samsung has been accused of being one of the most corrupt companies in Asia. I'm not saying the disdain towards Apple isn't justified, but I hate the incredibly one sided bashing. If Samsung does something wrong, FP ignores it as if it were an honest mistake or as if they were just defending themselves from big, bad Apple, but when Apple does the exact same thing it's, "this is why I'm never buying another Apple product," and, "Apple is literally worse than nuclear war." These are corporations, not some small shop on the street corner owned by your grandmother. They'll lie, cheat, and steal just the same.
Though in all fairness the Kindle is a better product in my eyes. You get the same experience (maybe even better if you really like what amazon is about) for a lot less money. It still does not excuse them for falsely advertising what another product has (Or does not have in this case).
