I know I sound very hypocritical saying this on a internet gaming forum but I don't like the idea of flying cars, space travel, crazy computers that fit in your hand or some other crazy shit. All this technology is making America the fat country it is. We don't want to do anything anymore. We just want machines to do it for us. I know there are many advantages to the future but it just seems too complicated. I would love to live in the 70's or 80's. I can live without a computer or iPod. I'd get me a walkman. Plus music was amazing back then. I'd just go to concerts every day. I'd be outside doing things with my friends. I'm not saying I don't do that now. I'm just trying to say things in the past, in my opinion, were a lot better than they are now. For example, I was listening to Megadeth earlier and I just happen to realize that they formed in 1984. Thats 25 years ago. Thats a long time ago. I just don't like the future. I'll probably get a bunch of angry responses from kids who would die without their daily dose of 14 hours a day of Call of Duty and who couldn't possibly imagine living without their 50 inch LCD TV. Anyway, your thoughts, FP?
Yes all that new science and medicine won't help us at all
flying cars
knowing this generation it will never ever happen
ever
All this technology is making America the fat country it is.
No, fat idiots who never get off their ass make their respective countries fat. I don't know of any technology that holds people down and shoves donuts into their face.
Ah, the classic "Technology is taking over our lives!"
I think it's just uncertainty, besides it's not like the past didn't have their share of problems.
Also music is still good, dig deeper.
Way I see it any major disadvantage to the tech and laziness will be made up in some form by the tech. Too fat? here's a machine that sucks the fat out. Too lazy? Here's a robot that does everyhting for you! Earth dying? Have a nice trip to one of our many Sol system colonies and space stations, or stay within our bubble Sub Urbs! Nuclear annihilation near? Don't worry, we have super computers working round the clock to prevent every major disaster possible.
I just noticed OP's name is NuclearAnnihilation

This.
Seriously, people just need to quit being so damned lazy.
70s or 80s? You're saying those are technology retarded?
1950s future was probably the best, in my opinion.

That doesn't make sense but, ok then.

Nice job of not reading anything.
Future still looks awesome.
I just hope we're not as stupid to actually nuke the earth, then I think we'll have a great future.
Are you kidding me? I look forward to the future, especially space travel.
This is a pretty cool video on what people will think the future will be like.

I hope space colonization will happen soon, then we can be like, in space y'know. It would be like, people in space. Not on Earth, in space. I mean just think about that. People. In. Space. Not just a couple people, I'm talking about people. Oh yeah and they're in space.

Need no technology
Are you kidding me? I look forward to the future, especially space travel.
I thought we already had that...
I just hope we colonize another planet soon, I don't like the idea of being dependent on a single planet.
Honestly, the past scares me a lot more than the future.
Technology isn't the reason people are fat and lazy. It's the demoralization of society. (No I'm not talking about Christian morals), but the ones that motivated people to take their part in society and succeed.

Space travel for civilians, and traveling to other solar systems.

I think so too, I have no drive to succeed in life.

No, it's because humans were fat and lazy to begin with. Only now do we have the means to live a fat and lazy life.

Sagan was awesome. One of my favorite scientists.

Too late.

You do?
I know there are many advantages to the future but it just seems too complicated.
Maybe to you. Exercise your brain more.
I would love to live in the 70's or 80's.
lol
I can live without a computer or iPod. I'd get me a walkman.
You can still buy those. If you really want to have one in the future you might as well get one now.
Plus music was amazing back then.
Music is amazing now, it's just different. Plus, communications technology has made it easier than it's ever been for you to get access to both music from the 70s and 80s, and new music done in the same style.
I'm just trying to say things in the past, in my opinion, were a lot better than they are now.
They weren't. But you weren't alive then. If you were, you'd just be complaining about cell phones and color TV.
For example, I was listening to Megadeth earlier and I just happen to realize that they formed in 1984. Thats 25 years ago. Thats a long time ago.
Yes, old bands were formed a long time ago.
I just don't like the future.
Deal with it.
I'll probably get a bunch of angry responses from kids who would die without their daily dose of 14 hours a day of Call of Duty and who couldn't possibly imagine living without their 50 inch LCD TV.
Probably.
Anyway, your thoughts, FP?
Grow up?
i hate science
What is not allowing you to listen to Megadeth now? Or go out and not be dependent upon technology? How do you know so much about the time period you are talking about? Do you really think it would be like how you imagine?
