[hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfoeasCeh44[/hd] Back in 1994, the Blue Bomber was such a gaming icon that he got his own cartoon as most of us know. Except, the cartoon was infamous for how cheesy it was, how off-model the artstyle was from anything else Mega Man, and other numerous problems. Albeit it was also memetic in its own right with Gutsman's ass, Super Fighting Robot and other things like asshole Protoman. Turns out it was going to be completely different and far more accurate to the games originally, but anime stylings didn't go over with focus groups at the time and we got the infamy that was Ruby-Spears Mega Man instead.
This would have been really nice to have.
Damn that animation is gorgeous.
While I would of liked it if they did went with the anime artstyle that resembled the games a lot more, I'll be honest, I don't really find too much wrong with the artstyle they did use. Yes, when compared to the artwork of any of the official games, it does look very offmodel, but you've got to at least give them a little bit of credit for at least trying to keep to the original designs as much as possible. Whether they succeeded or not, I'll let you be the judge of that. Also, I'm probably the only one who finds it interesting listening to any of the episodes of this show when knowing what will later happen to the voice actors and music (ESPECIALLY the music).
Looks almost identical to the OVA.

You can sorta easily tell, as both the Mega Man OVA and the cartoon used some of the same voice cast. There are some differences though, such as Mega Man being voiced by Ian James Corlett in the cartoon, while in the OVA he was voiced by two child actors (Christopher Gray in the first episode, and Gregory Smith in the second and third episodes), Dr. Wily (voiced by Scott Mcneil (aka Piccolo in the Ocean dubs of DBZ) in both shows) having a British accent in the OVA while in the cartoon he had a German accent, and some others as well.

Bright Man was was looking a lot more like Elec Man than he usually is.
never understood the appeal for robot pecs. like imagine being on the focus group and someone says "yeah but the robot looks weaks, maybe if you gave it muscles"
