Anyone here into car audio? If so, post pictures or what you have.
I'm pretty big into car audio, would have more but just dont have the money at the moment.
Here's my setup.
Head Unit: Pioneer deh-p980bt. The one in the pictures is the deh-p7800mp but the two decks look almost identical. Only difference is bluetooth and auto equilization.
Sub Amplifier: Rockford Fosgate t1001bd. Pushing 1600 watts RMS @ 0.75 ohms
Subwoofer: JL audio 13w7.
Enclosure: 1.75cu ft. Sealed enclosure with 1 inch thick polycarbonate back and mirrored interior.
Speaker Amplifier: MTX thunder 282. Want to upgrade to JL audio hd 600/4
Front: Alpine type-r components. Want to upgrade to Morel elates or Focal krx2
Rear: Alpine type-s coaxials. Used as fill.
Wiring: Power wiring is all JL and stinger. Interconnects (RCA) is all Stinger
All installed and made by myself.

Since the pictures were taken, I have cleaned up the whole install (wiring), upgraded the deck, upgraded the subwoofer wire to 8 gauge not that crappy 12 seen in the picture, and got rid of that shitty blue plastic trim around the deck.
I have a feeling a lot of FP'ers aren't in to it.
But I'm saving up money to get 1 10" sub of some sort later. I'll look into it more when I get the money.
13W7s are kinda nice but they are too overpriced
I'm rocking out with a little JBL 12 and a 200 watt amp. As i cant find my camera and the sub is deep in the closet.
They will go in my car when i get one.

Very true, which is why you buy on ebay. Pretty much all car audio equipment on ebay is about half of what you'll see in the stores. The 13w7 sells for around $1100 at the local shop by me and I picked mine up for $600 shipped. Still pretty pricey but is is worth it at that price. It blew my TWO 12" infinity kappa perfects out of the water and the jl sounds A LOT better.
Have you tried some subs from RE?
I have not but would like to especially the xxx. I read that the xxx will get louder but will not have the sq the JL has.
I'd also like to hear some FI BTLs. Oh one more picture that I thought was pretty awesome and showed just how huge the w7 is.
This is my 13w7 next to my friends jl 12w3v3 (which is a very nice sub)

My friend has 2 10" Fi's and they're the best subs I've ever heard.
a bit broken but this is what the JBL was like before it went in the closet

one of my mids

my old 8 before it kicked the bucket

just noticed that piece of SHIT above it that got smoked the same day
right when i got the JBL

i don't get the point of expensive Car audio.
unless you are one of the jackasses that drive around at night blasting your shitty "doof doof" music to prove to the neighbourhood how small your penis is.

Believe it or not, some people enjoy great sounding car audio without having to drive down neighborhoods late at night and waking everybody up.

i didn't do it for that
i wanted my games to sound good
believe it or not that JBL only cost me £40 but isn't a bad little sub; especially for the price.

What is the point of having a really nice computer? Because it is something you enjoy. You enjoy building your computer and playing games and cranking up the graphics and getting a "visual orgasm"
Same deal with car audio or home audio for that matter. I enjoy building, designing, and installing my car audio system. It's a hobby. I also enjoy nice quality sound as opposed to shiity stock sound you get from a 91 car like mine.
Also I'm not one of those kids that cranks the bass. Yes it is fun at times but I prefer sound quality over pure bass which is why I went with mostly higher end equipment. Also when I come into any populated area I turn down my music. Even at stop lights I turn it down as I also think loud music is annoying and disrespectful.
sorry if i were misunderstood
i don't really get the point, however, didn't call everybody who makes car audio systems a pindick chav who loves telling the world how much he loves tupac.
It's all the bad eggs, i'm sure the people who spend all weekend modding their cars hate the douchebags who drill holes in their mufflers to make their cars louder.

150 watts of power and bass with 4 speakers.
I have an inexpensive 500w car sub-woofer in my house because there's no decent subwoofer solutions for PC/home-cinema that match my needs.
I wanted floor-shaking bass for listening to wacky dubstep through on max volume, paired with my logitech 5.1 system, giving me a 5.2 essentially.
Not only does the floor shake but my room becomes literally an earthquake zone and shit even flies from my desk if I hit a certain note with a certain synth when the volume is maxed.
It was pretty simple to wire to be honest, just got an old PC power supply, cut one of the 12v connectors and wired it up to the amplifier which feeds into the subwoofer itself. Had to do this because they're usually designed to run from car batteries.

Exactly what I did, but I used a Hi-Fi radio
It just beats any home audio solution I've seen, in terms of PC subs the best you get is a 120W peak, which costs like twice as much as a Sub and Amp and sucks.
I have 2 12" Kicker CVR subs in a custom enclosure built for my truck that I purchased altogether for $300.
They are powered by a 600W RMS Pioneer Mono channel amp.
I also have some JBL mids and tweets in there powered by a separate 600W 4 channel amp by Pioneer (matches my subs amp) and that's all connected to my deck which is a Pioneer P700BT

Maybe I'll get a sub for my escalade since that is pretty much just my friend hauling vehicle. needs some good bass. It's got Bose speakers so it sounds nice, but there's not enough power behind it.

Take a look at the logitech z-5500. You can pick it up for $200-$250 online and it will shake your floor and as an overall system it really isn't that bad for the money. I have 3 z5500s hooked up to 1 control pod and it shakes the whole house and sounds decent. (not great)
Top one is broken and is there just until I can figure out something for it.

instead of getting 3 sound kits why not just build a better box for the sub?
or nick the amp and get a better sub and box?
or completely go custom?
Am I the only one who imagines someone who, to save money, drives around wearing a headset?
I'm not sure why, it just seems like a randomly bizarre occurence.

I already had high end speakers and my car sub cost like £100 with a built in amplifier.
Well I didn't buy all 3. Logitechs return policy is crazy. If something goes bad with your system all you send back is the control unit and you keep everything else, subs, speakers, and cabling. So I had 1 control unit go bad and so did one of my friends. So he gave me his left over stuff and I just made a 3 way splitter.
Also I have plans to go completely custom with my old car subs. The infinity kappa perfects. I've designed a ported enclosure and have a pro audio amp, just havent gotten around to making the enclosure.

It plays 45s.
I'm not really into car audio but my dad's car has an awesome sound system, a BOSE one but unfortunately I don't know much more.
The car is an Audi A3 Sportback mid 2007 BTW, if anyone could has any info on it, I would be thankful, since google isn't very good :<
My car has its standard sound system. Sound qualities quite good, bass is more than enough, on certain tracks it makes the car rattle, I don't really want anymore rattle.
Although I could do with an aux in.

Bitchin' :c00l:
My standard audio system is pretty good.
Stock audio in my car is brilliant, so good infact that people think I've bought expensive speakers.
