Essentially the story line is that the main character ash went to a cabin with his girlfriend and listened to a tape recorded by the previous inhabitor. On that tape were some words that summon evil spirits. The only way to banish them was to use a book called the necronomicon to open a portal and send the evil through it. However Ash gets caught in the vortex and finds himself in 1300 europe.

This movie has kicking ass, an unfair advantage for the protagonist, and a chainsaw!

The scene where they're clearly just throwing huge skeleton puppets at him is just slightly more hilarious than the scene near the end where he throws the shotgun up, leaps a foot forward, then catches it.

I love all of the Evil Dead movies, especially this one! I own the VHS copy of it. I wanna go watch it now.

This film was the first I saw in the series. But even as a standalone it is classic. My friends think its a a bit cheesy but thats where the greatness comes from
I prefer the second movie in the trilogy. Doesn't mean that Army of Darkness isn't awesome, though.

Oh God this movie is hilarious. If it was anyone besides Bruce Campbell it just wouldn't have worked.

Got this on Bluray once randomly. Was pretty kickin' rad.
I love how the series completely contradicts itself over and over again but still remains glorious.
This was the very first film I ever saw in the Evil Dead series, and I've only got one word to describe this perfect mix of action, comedy, horror, and awesome one-liners...
