You silly person. Luckily no one was too badly Hurt.
If anything, I'm happy to see how both the police and the driver handle this in an appropriate way. That is the driver realising that he did something incredibly stupid and the police staying calm.
Using a device while driving and not paying attention to the road should amount to your drivers license being suspended for at least a year IMO.
Like he could have actually killed someone at that speed. Just imagine if someone was standing behind or walking around the car.
Dude is so lucky it isn't even funny, don't be a dumbass and drive distracted.
Really glad they went with the whole #PlaySafe thing rather than some people's choice of #BanPokemonGO

Using a device while driving period is basically banned here. You get caught the first two times and the fines stack up. I believe the third is license suspension.
he had a passenger in the car, couldn't he just been like "hey whatever good pops up on your screen, do it on mine" because that's what i do when im driving and ive got mates with me pokemon hunting, makes sense

Gotta hit up that dual-wield pokemon go stance, Two phones, one in each hand while the driver drives undistracted, That's how me and my cousin were playing
This games been great for culling the population of retards.
I don't know how people can play this while driving, at that speed Pokemon wouldn't even appear.
Then again I was amazed yesterday when I saw someone eating Dairylea dunkers while driving, such commitment.

Pretty sure it's the same way in the US, too. Unfortunately, it only takes one instance of distracted driving to kill someone

They do appear, I was in the passenger seat of a car doing 70mph yesterday and was still catching stuff.
Also, I shit you not, I swear I once saw someone eating corn on the fucking cob while driving on the parkway (70+ mph)

While I agree, I also see this screwing over people that did nothing wrong.

And Garry didn't even have to lift a finger.
Honestly, if it's possible, Niantic should implement some failsafes that prevent you from using the app while driving, sort of like Waze. Of course you can say you're a passenger, but at the very least I think they should make it clear it's not okay to drive and play.
Man he was lucky that nothing happened to him or anyone else. And good on him for admitting he was distracted and was in the wrong.
Surprised that he was driving around rather than being in the inner harbor.
that's an automatic 3 star rating how the hell did he not get killed
Why people think it's perfectly okay to drive while being distracted by their phone will never cease to baffle me.

They're confident they won't make a mistake. The reasons don't matter, it's just how they feel. Rationalizing comes after.
I can't wait till we can play Mario Cart Go on our cellphones.
Could have easily being a kid or someone's dog.
Dumbass should get his license revoked.

your car is the kart, 6 lane motorways become race tracks and blue shells will literally fuck your shit up

Except when the ones killed are people standing on the sidewalk
is the punishment higher for accidentally striking a police car as opposed to any other car? I would understand a higher penalty if it was intentional but as an accident it seems like just a poor coincidence.
Minimap syndrome has already been becoming a bane of modern videogames and then it had to be made into a real-life thing :v:
Somebody stopped their car in the middle of the road today for a good 5 minutes to play this. People didn't know weather to stop behind him or go around. Why can't people wait to play this until after they are done operating a vehicle?

They need to put a feature in the game like most car entertainment systems have.
If you're in drive and going X amount of speed the system is disabled. This way people can't possibly be driving and playing the game.

"That's what I get for playing this dumb ass game"
No, that's what you get for being a dumb ass person.
Earlier this week, I saw a car ran a red light. Today, some addict walked around in the train back and forth, back and forth, tapping his phone.
This is getting out of control.
