At least 42 people were killed and dozens more wounded on Thursday in airstrikes on a village mosque in northern Syria, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said. “The raids by unidentified warplanes targeted a mosque in Aleppo province during evening prayers, killing 42 people, most of them civilians,” said the head of the Britain-based Observatory, Rami Abdel Rahman. “More than 100 people were wounded,” he said, adding that many were still trapped under the collapsed mosque in the village of Al-Jineh, just over 30km west of Aleppo.
source: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/mar/17/syria-mosque-airstrike-kills-dozens-of-civilians-near-aleppo No confirmation yet that it was a US bomb, the only sources I can find saying it are fishy like RT and other smaller sites. But they're saying they recovered part of the bomb and it is US munitions? Either way, not good news. US military says it struck al-Qaida targets in Idlib but does not confirm reports of attack in Aleppo province.
Regardless of who did it, 42 dead is a goddamn tragedy.
I think the easiest way to determine who dropped the bomb is determine who in this region is fighting whom. I don't know enough any more about the various factions to say if the people in this region are backed by the US or not, but if they were backed by the US I'd say it's unlikely it was done by the US. The area is a rebel area so that does make it a free for all for the Russians and Syrians.

America or not, disgraceful and horribly saddening.
If a Mosque was purposefully targeted during prayer time it sounds like this wasn't a "woops I thought those hoes and brooms were AK47s" level of sketchy, it's "Lets murder all the muslims" sketchy.

I didn't even think Mosques would ever be targeted under any sane General's RoE. The likelihood of there being non-combatants and children inside is, well, the proof is in the bloodbath here.
Just realized, this will be the Russians or Assad's forces. Bet you. Or some very nasty US/UK mistake.
Just realized, this will be the Russians or Assad's forces. Bet you. Or some very nasty US/UK mistake.
Is this a joke or do you have a VERY narrow minded black and white mentality?
Americans are pure.
Every bomb dropped on civilians and mosques just fuels hatred for the next generation of ISIS fighters... It's pretty incredible that with all the technologies these bomb have they still manage to bomb mosques.

PGMs in general would very likely mean BLUFOR forces such as the US, and OPFOR such as Syria or Russia if it was a dumb bomb due to most of their aircrafts not having PGM capabilities. I also doubt that an american bomb would of left enough if itself to be identified.
Just realized, this will be the Russians or Assad's forces. Bet you. Or some very nasty US/UK mistake.
So if it's Russia it's on purpose and if the US did it it's a mistake? Kind of biased.
