Anybody here from the Springfield? Sadly today, around 5-6 PM, 2 tornadoes tore through Springfield Mass, killing a few, and injuring 40 or more people, the town i'm in was spared from the tornado, it woke me up though, anybody else?
Were any of your friends hurt?
We had severe tornado warnings here in Somerset County, Maine today. No tornados touched down afaik.
Condolences to those living in Springfield.

No, thank the heavens
My sister's friend lives down there and his house was hit. He can't find his mom :(
No tornadoes up here (very southern New Hampshire) but there was an odd lightning storm I recorded. The storm was probably in Massachusetts.

The audio is replaced because it's just my family talking and frogs chirping, there was no thunder.

Did anyone you didn't like get hurt?
I'm in Concord. I was in the audience at a chorus concert at my high school from around 7:30 to 9:30 and I could hear thunder coming through the roof about half-way through it. I went outside and it was like a goddamn hurricane. Rain was coming down in sheets and turned to hail at one point, it was dark except for the brief flashes of lightning that lit up the clouds every other second, and the wind was amazingly strong. I've never experienced a storm like it in my 14 years living in MA. It was just like a scene from Twister, if anybody has ever seen it. I don't think a funnel cloud touched down anywhere near me, but I wasn't entirely convinced that I was not going to experience my first personal encounter with a tornado. It was fucking fun, though. Really got my adrenaline pumping.
I was delivering pizza (I work at domino's and live near the area) so I was pretty close to it. It was so bizzarre. The sky was pure electric yellow, scary stuff. We're not used to that kind of weather around here.

I live in the same area, and can say that this is indeed true.
Especially since I take night walks regularly, this brought up some surreal atmosphere, as there were very few cars on the street, absolutely no people out, and overall darkness.
I'm in Palmer. All of it went right over me, but my town wasn't damaged.

Yeah that was filmed around 9 PM and was pretty dark in that part of the sky, my camera just made it look lighter out (exposure or something, I'm no camera expert).

Looked as if someone had put a bad photoshop filter on everything. But I've seen that before around here, never tornadoes though (granted I still didn't see any).
Also as scary and bad as this is for people, this video is kind of neat (embedding is fucking disabled, it's the tornado hitting the Concord river and picking up water)

I'm in southern New Hampshire and I couldn't see the lightning but I could hear the thunder.
I have a friend in Worcester that hid in her basement all day though
I live on the North Eastern border of Rhode Island, on the Massachusetts side. We only got thunder and dark clouds.
I live in Northampton, MA and the skies were yellow there too, lightning took out the power in almost the whole town.
Was driving through Springfield when they hit. My brother was in Westfield at the same time so my parents were rather worried. Scary as hell.
I live on the western side of the RI border on the MA side, and the storm passed over us. It was just really dark, and followed by some thunder and lightning late into the night.

Thunder storms were earlier in the day, again there was no thunder with this storm, you just had to notice it to know it was going on
