Maybe Paul Revere will come riding in on his horse, shooting his guns and ringing his bells and shouting the British are coming to fix America. Quick snippet:
We will look back on this week and realize that something changed. I have given numerous interviews wherein I espoused the benefits of thorough vetting during aggressive contested primary elections, but this week’s tactics aren’t what I meant. Those who claim allegiance to Ronald Reagan’s 11th Commandment should stop and think about where we are today. Ronald Reagan and Barry Goldwater, the fathers of the modern conservative movement, would be ashamed of us in this primary. Let me make clear that I have no problem with the routine rough and tumble of a heated campaign. As I said at the first Tea Party convention two years ago, I am in favor of contested primaries and healthy, pointed debate. They help focus candidates and the electorate. I have fought in tough and heated contested primaries myself. But what we have seen in Florida this week is beyond the pale. It was unprecedented in GOP primaries. I’ve seen it before – heck, I lived it before – but not in a GOP primary race. I am sadly too familiar with these tactics because they were used against the GOP ticket in 2008. The left seeks to single someone out and destroy his or her record and reputation and family using the media as a channel to dump handpicked and half-baked campaign opposition research on the public. The difference in 2008 was that I was largely unknown to the American public, so they had no way of differentiating between the lies and the truth. All of it came at them at once as “facts” about me. But Newt Gingrich is known to us – both the good and the bad.
Source Communists are cannibals too btw. Do you know who else is a cannibal? Satanists.
The left seeks to single someone out and destroy his or her record and reputation and family
They've done a pretty good job of that so far themselves!
She's kinda right
Well it's talking about political infighting in the early Soviet Union after Lenin's death, but still pffftttthahaha
why do all these politicians have a such a hard-on for reagan
It never really occurred to me until now, but the GOP, Tea Party, and other conservatives have a hierarchy with Jesus/God at the top, and Reagan second. He is just short of being Jesus himself to the right.
why do all these politicians have a such a hard-on for reagan
Because. He was The Gipper, after all.
They've done a pretty good job of that so far themselves!
That's the entire point of the post; she's saying that the Republican party is using these tactics on each other.

I think Reagan would be ashamed of being called the father of modern conservatism.
Goldwater sounds like a decent person from what I read on him
Goldwater sounds like a decent person from what I read on him
You mean aside from trying to get rid of the UN, opposing the civil rights act on the same grounds as Ron Paul does, and being staunchly anti-worker? And that's just what I can remember, I'm sure there are piles of shit. [editline]29th January 2012[/editline] I mean no, he's not as bad as the current batch of christian nutters, but that isn't saying much
I didn't know Stalin was a cannibal.
Half the fucking buildings in Phoenix and ASU are named after Goldwater.
Goldwater sounds like a decent person from what I read on him

I certainly believe in aliens in space. They may not look like us, but I have very strong feelings that they have advanced beyond our mental capabilities....I think some highly secret government UFO investigations are going on that we don't know about – and probably never will unless the Air Force discloses them.
:v: *itsaliens.jpg*
Wouldn't Reagan be bashed to death by the Republicans if he did the same things that he did as a president back then today?
:v: *itsaliens.jpg*
Granted I haven't read very much. And I may have skimmed a bit. and the book might have been in Swahili
I agree with this point. I keep messages on my house phone about why x candidate is satan and it's annoying as fuck.
Wait a sec... we just got an intelligent remark from Sarah Palin. What is this, an episode of The Twilight Zone?
I don't even know what the fuck she's incoherently rambling about.
Wait a sec... we just got an semi-intelligent remark from Sarah Palin. What is this, an episode of The Twilight Zone?
ftfy And yes. Yes we did. But it took her comparing the GOP candidates to "those damn liberals and commies" for us to get it.
She's kinda right
The overall rhetoric highlighted in the article makes her seem a bit delusional, but her point is quite accurate. It seems like politicians of both sides are targeting each-other over personal issues rather than their policies.
I think Reagan is worshipped by the right because he was able to use techniques he learned as an actor to create an image of a folksy but tough President. He made it seem like everyone's lovable and wise grandpa was President. That kind of strong paternal figurehead is a Republican's wet dream.
She's kinda right
Was this an intentional pun?
Received this in the mail today as well. Mitt Romney once criticised Ronald Reagan, how could you even consider voting this man into office? How could our country survive if we don't return to a Reagan-Bush presidency?
She goes off about dirty politics and then she praises fucking Newt Gingrich?
She goes off about dirty politics and then she praises fucking Newt Gingrich?
Newt Gingrich is perhaps the most guilty out of all the candidates.

HE EVEN NOMINATED THOSE WHO ARE GOOD AT THEIR JOB NOT BASED ON THEIR PARTY OR BELIEFS! THIS IS HORRIBLE!
