Henshin, Inc. has announced that it has optioned and is now working on an animated feature film based on Bandai Namco’s Klonoa: Door to Phantomile, which originally released in Japan in 1997. The game spawned over a half dozen titles which followed the adventure of Klonoa, an anthropomorphic cat-like “dream traveler” and his friends as they traveled through dreams to offer help wherever it was needed. The to-be-titled movie will feature a completely new story set in the same universe as the series’ original game. It is being produced by Henshin’s Rob Pereyda and written by Hitoshi Ariga, who will also co-produce and lead character design, whose past work includes character design for Pokémon as well as authoring manga adaptations of Mega Man and The Big O. Hitoshi Ariga is responsible for Megaman Megamix which is quite good.
That's.. huh. I didn't expect Klonoa to ever be relevant again. :v: Would be nice if it turns out good.
I loved this game. Its the hidden gem of the ps1
The Klonoa Mega Chat on Discord basically exploded as soon as they heard the news, and I'm still bouncing off the goddamn walls myself. And here I was, thinking the series was dead for eternity. Can't wait to see what terrible tragedy befalls the little cutie now. :v:
does this mean that poor klonoa will get a new game now
I never even managed to buy the PS2 Klonoa games seeing as all I had were a bunch of PS2 demos. I also missed out on Ty the Tasmanian Devil or something and a bunch of other games, along some PS1 release about something related to evil pigs conquering stuff.

If anyone's interested I wholly recommend the original game on the PSN store. There's also the Wii remake, but in my opinion it loses some of the charm (and Klonoa himself is a lot less of a leading character in the rewritten dialogue for some reason). They're not gonna change your world or anything, but they're fun for what they are and surprisingly precision hard by end game. Still never got to play the PS2 sequel, though.
Yes, so good to see Hitoshi Ariga contines to do great things, his work with MegaMan Megamix is excellent. I have no doubt this will be bad. As for Klonoa, I've played snippets here and there over the years but never enough to get a feel of it. I should really play it, shouldn't I?
I also missed out on Ty the Tasmanian Devil or something
It's Ty the Tasmanian Tiger. Also if you're still interested in it, it's on Steam. http://store.steampowered.com/app/411960/
