I know its a couple of days early, i just thought i would be a good idea to set up a thread where people can discuss their ambitions, Plans and ultimately results.
Having done a year of retakes, loosing 1.3 stone in weight over said year I'm hoping to achieve an A and two B's to study mechanical engineering at Manchester university.
How does everyone else feel about results, im about 80% confident. I also really hope to slip in before the new tuition fee's kick in.
Also this is probably a good place to ask about clearing or alternative options as there is a large UK user-base of which i'm sure some are clued up on what to do.
I have a bit of knowledge on clearing as i had to go through it before in a big way as edexcel forgot to send my maths results to Manchester so i wasn't released into clearing until 2 days had passed. Remember to call ucas up or your institution if you know your results are to low yet have not been released into clearing to check up on what's going on. I had to scan in my maths results and send them to Manchester last year for example.
I'm fucked. Procrastinated way too much.

did that for two years, paid for it in my third. I hope it all goes better than you think.

Thanks, I've got all of Year 13 though, I can retake the AS levels that I do too poorly in. Taking the 3 sciences and further maths may have been biting off more than I could chew, though the school advised it...
Gotta be honest, shitting it for Thursday. Need AAB, not gonna happen, just gotta hope Manchester let me in on what I get.
Good luck everyone!
Shit. Shit. Shit.

Hopefully see you there, drop by the engineering department and observe concentrated social awkwardness.

No doubt I'll see you freshers week assuming we both get in..!
I'm shitting it, at least Rock City has a Monster Munch night later. I reallr want that placement at Manchester Met.
Good luck guys on your results. I'm only getting 3 results that day because I did a few GCSE's earlier than most people do theirs.
Just some advice guys, some universities send you letters of acceptance the day before your results are released. So if you get a letter on Wednesday, there's a good chance you've been accepted and got the required grades, which is what happened with my siblings and a few of my friends.
Good luck everyone!
Hoping to get into Plymouth this year. Anyone else going there?
I did a BTEC so I already got my place at university. :v:
Seriously though, good luck to you guys.
My best advice: Whatever you get get horribly drunk. It'll probably be one of the hardest partying nights of your life. Till you get to uni anyway.

Ya i'll have monster munch thrown at me, regardless of my results i'm looking forward to that night.
I'm fucking hoping I get A's and B's to get in to college, then again, Nottingham don't really have standards so they'll probably let me in either way.

Hoping to get in to NCN High Pavement
I must say I'm glad A levels are far behind me. Good luck to everyone and I hope UCAS goes smoothly!
Yep. These results will DEFINITELY be interesting...
My GSCE results will be coming soon, Just gotta get 5 C-A* grades to get into college. I think I'll be okay..I hope so anyway.
Not looking foward to it, but at the end of the day if I do shit it will be a kick up the back side to do some work. Year 12 was a bit of a fail for me overall.
(first Post :3)

I plan on being absolutely smashed the night before, the entire duration of results day and probably most of the next morning.
As you can probably tell, I'm not one to expect good news.
Good luck to all! (especially you lawrence!)

I am next year (hopefully)
So what are the 'big universities' that everybody in Jolly Ol' Angloland are trying to get into?
Need A*AA, definitely didn't get the a-star, going to ring Manchester on Thursday to beg.
I never quite understood how these tests work over there. Do you HAVE to get decent grades on them to get into college/university?

The majority of students in the UK get conditional offers based on your target grades, if you don't meet those grades you agreed to meet you will have to go to your insurance choice (a backup), this offer is normally one or two grades lower so you are more likely to get in to that one. If you fuck up and don't get your insurance place you can apply to 'Clearing' which is where universities offer spare places to people who failed to make both their grades, or for those who rejected their offers.
I'm dreading it, not because of results. Got to get my results, head off to the college I'm hoping to go to, get enrolled, then the 3 hour or so journey to oxford for a festival, gonna be one hell of a hectic day! Hope people get the results they're after!
