The Chicago & Acid House Thread - General

A thread dedicated to looking back at two pioneering genres of House music. Such pioneers include Larry Heard (AKA Mr. Fingers & Fingers, Inc.), Marshall Jefferson, Frankie Knuckles, Joe Smooth, Chip E and Robert Owens. Acid House also emerged from Chicago as a genre that would dominate the dancefloors of the 80s and 90s. Acid House survived a sensationalist media attack in the late 80s and recovered well, gaining a considerable fan base and influenced British Pop music in the early 90s. Notable artists include: 808 State, A Guy Called Gerald, Alabama 3, Maurice, S'Express and Lil Louis. Time for tunes. Alabama 3 are good. Someone recommended me an album, but I already liked them from the Sopranos theme.

Now i know you didn't just ignore Detroit house. Felix Da Housecat was a true pioneer.

The Detroit sound was more Techno than House imo.
