Sup bros the following story is fake and fictional and not real so don't go about makin' a mess of this wildly entertaining thread by thinking it's real (it stopped being all that funny unfortunately).
Jacksonville, Florida (CNN) -- Late Saturday evening at an anthropomorphic animal convention, a Jacksonville police officer was taken into custody, charged with attempted murder. The victim, 29 year old Philip Boxer, was part of a peaceful protest outside the Jacksonville Convention Center to raise awareness of the struggle that homosexuals face in the overwhelmingly conservative town. Witnesses from the scene say that Officer Odum approached the group at approximately 9:30pm yelling for the crowd to disperse. Mr. Boxer approached the officer in an attempt to calm the visibly enraged man down. Witnesses then say that Officer Odum shoved Mr. Boxer to the ground and placed a pair of handcuffs behind his back. The scene had attracted a lot of attention at this point, with many protesters and convention goers crowding to get a better view of the unfolding drama. The flustered officer continued in his vein attempt to disperse the crowd, but to no avail. The events that happened next are disputed. Some claim that Philip Boxer got off the ground and attempted to flee, others say he was merely rising to his feet to calmly walk towards the patrol car. Whichever the case may be, Officer Odum brandished his department issued firearm from his hip holster and aimed it square at the handcuffed man, much to the chagrin of the crowd. What happened next is undisputed. As Mr. Boxer turned around to see what all the noise was about, a single shot rang clear. As silence hushed over the crowd, Mr. Boxer fell too his knees. A single bullet had torn a hole from his right cheek to his left ear. Boxer remained conscious even as paramedics arrived at the scene. Through sheer luck, the bullet had missed anything vital. Boxer was taken to the hospital where his situation remains good. Officer Odum, however, was immediately taken into custody. Many in the crowd had recorded the unfolding drama on their cell phones, and upon review of the footage by investigating officers, Odum was placed in cuffs and driven away from the scene. The Jacksonville Police Department has declined to comment on the situation, citing their ongoing internal investigation, but that hasn't stopped many prominent figures and politicians from speaking. Ann Coulter, a Republican best selling author, had this to say: "It's too early to jump to conclusions. There's many factors that the liberally biased left is leaving out. If the crowd had become hostile, the officer may have felt in fear of his own life. We shouldn't be so quick to judge." Our own investigation, though, has shown that this isn't Officer Odum's first brush with violence. In an incident occurring in 2003, Odum was responding to a simple domestic dispute when he was accused of crushing a pet guinea pig with his bare hands. The case was settled out of court. In another incident, Officer Odum was charged with the illegal possession and transportation of the rare Brazilian ocean tarantula, an endangered sea spider commonly dried and ground into powder for it's aphrodisiac qualities. However, evidence was insufficient and the charges were later dropped. Please stay with CNN as more information on this story unfolds.
Personally, I'll have to see more information before I make up my mind whether this was justified. The officer would obviously be justified had the man began to flee, or if the crowd was belligerent and he was fearing for his life. He may have even unintentionally grabbed his gun as opposed to his tazer or mace. Even if none of these are the case, officers have to make split-second decisions every day and a disproportionate punishment for this officer will likely breed low confidence among others, fearing reprisal. Wow that cop went a bit over the top... People like him don't deserve to be in the force.
He should have called for backup and killed them all. Damn furrys.
Where are the videos? I'd like to see what really happened.
Wow that cop went a bit over the top... People like him don't deserve to be in the force.
Furrys. He did a good thing.
a whole crowd of guys dressed in furry suits were chanting at him, I'd have started firing my 9mm EVERYWHERE
Justified.
What the fuck. Well, he can enjoy prison.
Nope yeah nevermind, still shouldn't have fired aiming at his head.

But this doesn't have anything to do with furries. It was a protest about homosexuality outside a furry convention. Hahahaha, I finished typing this, hit the post button, and there were more than 5 hate-filled comments about how furries should be shot.
I saw the title and knew this would be a compelling story.
What the fuck. Well, he can enjoy prison.
It's psychological terror, really- nothing justifies it, sure, but imagine as you were surrounded by a bunch of weird people dressed as animals, it can easily trigger panic
Jesus there's a lot of furry hate in GD/news. Eh, I suppose that's why they have their own forum.
This thread will be full of "Hurp derp people with a fetish are evil that cop did the right thing :downs:" Police Brutality isn't justified.

I assumed they would all be in furry suits or something.
I can't tell if you guys advocating the murder of people just because they have a different sexual preference from you are serious
Justified.
A human was nearly killed - don't judge his fucking lifestyle.
I assumed they would all be in furry suits or something.
it's just about as bad as if a whole group of people dressed up with bondage leather suits were on the street
