This means that there are now four clickable targets to the source page instead of just two. In our tests, we’ve seen a net increase in the average click-through rate to the hosting website. • The source page will no longer load up in an iframe in the background of the image detail view. This speeds up the experience for users, reduces the load on the source website’s servers, and improves the accuracy of webmaster metrics such as pageviews. As usual, image search query data is available in Top Search Queries in Webmaster Tools.
Also it now has arrow key support for flicking through images
Looks like its designed for a tablet, its a bit wasteful on a 22"+ screen.
I like the really big previews, most images are high resolution now, this allows us to see them.
Eh, pretty nifty but I'd probably still use the mouse to just click an image unless they add mouse wheel functionality for image scrolling kinda like itunes album scroller or whatever.
i dont know if its just me but its really glitchy and slow
Image search is annoyingly slow when loading previews normally.
i dont know if its just me but its really glitchy and slow
Most new things are glitchy and slow. Knowing google it will be streamlined and enhanced over time.
Thank fuck, the old system was horrendous. [editline]24th January 2013[/editline] It's still the old system for me.

Google UK here, can't see shit
I still have the old image search..
Looks like its designed for a tablet, its a bit wasteful on a 22"+ screen.
why do people here hate user interfaces that allow for touch just because something is big doesn't mean that it's tablet only and pc users are being oppressed do you want tiny things all over the place [t]http://i.imgur.com/pJMFKYs.jpg[/t] is this how it should be instead?
Holy shit.
Still waiting for eden of the east here.
Load of people love it, I think it's terrible. Why add a fucking animation when I just want to access images as swift as possible.
I still have the old image search..
Yeah, I'm thinking it's like that for all of Europe at the moment.
Still the old way for me.
Google images will never be the same since its harder to find porn.
Google images will never be the same since its harder to find porn.
No it's not. Just turn safe search off. What they did awhile ago pretty much just eliminated the possibility of accidentally stumbling upon porn.
Google images will never be the same since its harder to find porn.
yeah, now we have to type it out explicitly, not more beating around the bush I remember when I was young, I searched "breas" (yes, without the 't') because I was afraid it would set off some sort of alarm if I typed out "breast" or god forbid "boobs" (Sure enough, "breas" still gave me plenty of the kind of results I was looking for :quagmire: ) I pity the next generation's manifest destiny into the unknown world of internet tits. They'll have to be some courageous motherfuckers.
